Market Garden is a carryover campaign. So you always need to start from the first mission and play through in order. This is because your forces at the end of one mission can reappear at the start of another (so you need to be careful with your forces). The theme of MG with the oncoming troops on a single race to get through matches up well with this.
Hope that explains it

To be honest a little disappointed with that would prefer the original format in battle accamedy which allows you to play any after the first, will probaly take a beginner like me ages to get to arnhem bridge. Can i ask are all your expansions carry over types?

Sorry you are finding it tough going. We do explain on the product page that it is 8 Single Player Missions linked into one flowing campaign. Markey Garden is the only expansion which is built in this way - carryover and consequences were one of the most asked-for features from the community.
Both France and Sealion are 'traditional' campaigns in that you can play the missions in any order, although we tend to recommend you play in sequence, as we try and introduce any new units and concepts gradually through the missions.
Remember you can switch on Easy Mode in the options. This makes your units tougher and more accurate.
