Beginner Question on Supply

Post by lotharr51 »

Just got this great game and I had a question about invasion supply. Specifically, do naval unit on the map contribute to supply? I landed in Norway on both sides of Olso, but my boys ran out of sauerkraut and couldn't focus on the task at hand.

My next thought was to take a smaller coastal city and advance from there.

I reviewed the Grand Strategy PDF, but I couldn't locate the answer.

Thanks in advance.

A fleet will provide supply level 3 to an invasion force if it stays in a hex adjacent to the landing is how I believe it works.

Oh, it's located on Page 33 of the Original Manual. As 'gsmart04' says, a disembarked Unit must be adjacent to - or in line of supply to - a Surface Naval Unit (Battleship, Carrier, Destroyer).

Naval surface (combat) provide level 1 supply until the Surface ship and Industry Tech get high enough to provide level 2 supply.

LoL B-More - get used to the world! We have the accident of being close, a very unique instance, most of the USA players are scattered. I think Ronnie (rkr1958) in Ala, might be the closest to us. There are a lot of Yankees (lol) here, as well as those folks near or west of the Rockies. There are some Floridians, and more than a few Canadians as well - But all are good folks! I'm in 4 Play-By-EMail (PBEM) games with folks from New Zealand, France, Russia, and Spain. We all have great fun here. Let me know if you want to PBEM, however since we are so close, we may be able to TCP-IP a game or two. :-)

I know what you mean...I've played 2 games so far...the A/I killed me in the first and is doing quite well in the second so far. I guess it'll take some time for me to get proficient.

Thanks for pointing this out. I have added it to the GS 2.1 version of the manual that will be released when GS 2.1 comes out.
