17th Century Zaporozhian Cossaks (15 mm)

Post by Yori »

I have completed the project of rebasing and repaing of my old Cossack army for Field of Glory Renaissance and new Polish By Fire and Sword wargaming systems. Soon I''m gonna start the painting of Muscovites.

The army arrayed - Cossacks in marching formation. The generals and Zaporozhian infantry are put in the centre, flanked by war wagons and screened by cavalry:

Lovely stuff, my Cossacks are all Fire and Sword, a lively bunch of chaps and very happy with the war wagons. The other good thing is that the metal bases are the right size for FOG!

They look like a mean bunch of ruffians - just what I imagine Cossacks should look like - would go great in my Polish armies.

Only if you use registered Cossacks (medium foot) and "Dragoons other cossacks" (Dragoons).

Please note that all cossack cavalry in Polish armies are Polish noblemen and Polish horsemen not Zaporozhian Cossacks!

Only footmen and dragons are de facto hired Zaporozhian mercenary with Cossack equipment.

All cossack cavalry should be equipped with Polish armour, weapons, clothes and of course must have Polish horses with Polish-style harnesses.
