Janissaries training classification and Nicopolis

Post by randynovotny »

Just a question about training classification for janissaries in FOG. The janissary bow are listed as drilled, but the crossbow, handgunner and slingers are listed as undrilled. Would this be right?

I'm trying to put together both forces for a scenario based on Nicopolis 1396 and was going to use the 100 Years War French ratings for the Franco-Burgundian forces and the Hungarians for their troops. I might use the Hungarian ratings for the Wallachian and Transylvanian troops and possibly the Serbian knights and horse archers.

Anybody have any suggestions? :D

No, it is an error, which I will correct. They should be drilled. Thanks for pointing it out.

Of course, under the rules whether LF are rated as drilled or undrilled makes no difference whatsoever.

Thanks.

I noticed that the Janissary bows and crossbows are listed as MF and the slings and handguns are LF. Is that right?

As a side note, when we were debating the Ottoman list on the TNE over 18 months back, Matt Haywood made the pretty good case that the Serbs should not be an external ally. But more likely because their numbers were small that they should be internal. You may want to make them a single knight unit of 4-6
