Battle of St Albans 1461

Post by stockwellpete »

This is the campaign version of the second War of the Roses confrontation at St Albans - the only difference you will notice is that the leaders are not specifically named, but are called "Yorkist leader 1" or "Lancastrian leader 2" etc. And yes, the Yorkist army is meant to be facing the wrong way! The Lancastrians crept up behind them by using a wide flanking manoeuvre.

You can use historical rules here if you want to - the Lancastrians may move everything from the start but the Yorkists can follow this schedule . . .

Turn 1 - can move just the three archer units in St Albans itself

And then on Turns 3, 4 and 5 can move the three contingents facing north starting with the left hand group first (on turn 3), the middle group (on turn 4) and the right hand group (on turn 5). This replicates the initial Yorkist hesitancy to respond to fighting in the town.
