What are your favourite Mods/Campaigns for Panzer Corps

Post by jaggy »

For Mods:
Redux Real Sound Mod (VPaulus)
Historical Insignia (VPaulus)
AT & AA Mod (Razz)
WW 2 Land Pack (massi)
Big Units Mod (evgeny81)
Generic Mod Enabler (Jaeson Jones)

For Campaigns:
Mannock's Map Pack (Mick Mannock)
Panzer General Classic Campaign (rezaf)
Italian Campaign (nikivdd)
DLC '39 (Slitherine)

Apologies to the other custom campaign modders not included in this list. I wish I had more time to play all the custom campaigns available. I will though, when I find the time. A big thumbs-up to all the mod/campaign designers for enhancing the game. Thanks.

These six 8)

For custom user made campaign:
GTPG campaign for Panzer Corps
By Nikivdd

For user made add-on for vanilla campaign:
Mannock's map pack for the grand campaign
By Mannock

For additional flavor to the whole game:
Historical Insignia Pack
By VPaulus

For really awesome sound :
Real Sound Mod Redux
By VPaulus

For custom unit(s):
BosDragon's German Units:
By BosDragon (there is only one, the Fi-156, it's well skinned and made. I'm eagerly awaiting future content the author)

For units skins:
Panzer Camouflage Skins
By rezaf and flakfernohr (simply awesome)

This by no means is meant to belittle anybody's work,it just the stuff I use personally and highly recommend them. I like these so much that I've made them permanently part of the vanilla game and glady go thru the hassle of reintergrating them into the game after a patch comes out.

It goes w/o saying I also have all the dlc's.

IMO, the New Historical Flag and Insignia mod is better than my.
You should check it.

I haven't looked at the mods at all, how well (if at all) do these integrate into the main game /DLC's?

I'm thinking of things like the real sound, insignias and camo skins.

Integrate well, specially if you use GME. :)

@CrimsonStorm - You really should try these mods. Follow the link VPaulus put up to get GME, then you don't run the risk of over-writing your original game files. If you get stuck installing them, just post on this forum. The last time I got into a jam (of my own doing), VPaulus and El Condoro helped me sort it out.

Redux Real Sound Mod has got excellent, crisp combat sounds; Historical Insignia enhances the flags, medals, user interface, massi's Land Pack has enhanced fantastic-looking forest, cities, towns, ports, stations, airfield graphics; evgeny's Big Mod has replaced the original unit graphic with black and white photos of the actual combat units.

These mods have increased the immersion level of Panzer Corps for me now.

Managed to get it working..AFTER I figured out the game was actually in\panzer corps\panzer corps.

It might have been nice to have mentioned that if you change the default path you get a double folder in the GME document.

Actually, the double Panzer Corps folder, is when you installed it with the default path. And the reason why I didn't mention, it's because not all users use the default path, and that may induce to error and confusion.
To be honest I don't understand why the Slitherine installers, create double folders. IMO, it only help to mess things more.

The installer will always add a Panzer Corps folder to the path you chose. So when writing the path, if you didn't want a double Panzer Corps folder, you should have just written "E:\Games", and the game would be installed in "E:\Games\Panzer Corps". If you write "E:\Games\Panzer Corps" the game will be installed in "E:\Games\Panzer Corps\Panzer Corps".

That's what jammed me up, the double folder creation. At least you figured it out on your own, I needed the others on this forum to figure out where I was stuck.

Of all the mods made available as tools, I particularly like Mr. Garnett's Equipment Editor that can be had at this Matrix Forum link: http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=2878726

Not only does he continually fine tune and revamp the mod for improvement and problem solving, with it you can make any unit become anything you want it to be. To me it is the most useful tool of them all if I had to choose just one.

I also particularly like Massi's newest land hexes and he has promised some Eastern European and Russian hexes as well. I am really looking forward to those. And the sound mod by VPaulus makes a totally new dimension in the game for me. Rezaf has done remarkable work for all of us and for it I will always be very appreciative. With guys like these and the others, this game is headed to immortality in less than a year of being released.
Old Timer Panzer General fan. Maybe a Volksturm soldier now. Did they let Volksturm drive Panzers?

The reason I didn't mention this was because I haven't used it. Its mainly for modders but for mainstream gamers like me I'm sure it still has its uses but unfortunately I'm always short of time.

You've got to be kidding?! Massi's got more?! Can't wait, I'll definitely install massi's new land hexes. Playing DLC '39 with his current graphics on the map was very enjoyable.

Concur fully, can never go back to vanilla sounds now. Not ever.

Again agree. I think a lot of these modders are under-appreciated, which is why if I like their mods and use it, I make it a point to post and let them know.
