Hey, just wondering: The version of the game available at Matrix Games has a different name (Commander - Europe at War Gold, whereas the Slitherine version is called Military History - Commander - Europe at War). Are there differences between those two versions? And one additional question: I read early reviews of the game, has the AI been improved in current versions of the game ('cause it was criticized in some of them). Just asking because I want a good single player challenge (and I've had a big disappointment with World Supremacy by Shrapnel Games (it's a pity it won't be finished 'cause the developer has abandoned it due to his unability to deal with criticism).
By the way: Panzer Corps is great. Just looking for some similar, but deeper wargame (and War in the East is too difficult to get into for me, need some intro-level wargames first).

But was it improved in the versions leading up to the current one (I mean the AI)?
OK, noticed Paypal isn't available as a payment option at the moment. When will it be available again? Can't use the other payment options.
BTW, tried out a demo (of Version 1.06, couldn't find a newer demo) and liked it very much. I guess this game is what I was looking for. I'll see about getting it in the next months, from here or from Matrix (hope the Paypal payment option will become available again here).

Functionality, and that includes the AI, there's no difference between the Slitherine and Matrix version. In terms of which site to buy it from I'll only say that the Slitherine CEaW/GS forum is by far more active than the one at Matrix. However; where you buy is your choice of course.spillblood wrote:But was it improved in the versions leading up to the current one (I mean the AI)?

I'd prefer getting it here at Slitherine, because Matrix has a pretty bad Euro/Dollar exchange course, so you get a better price here than there (some games or addons (Panzer Corps DLCs!) have nearly a 1:1 Dollar/Euro exchange rate, plus you have to pay 19% VAT (here as well). Although there's no difference in VAT charges, due to the paypal exchange rates you used to get here it's cheaper to get it at Slitherine. I hope Paypal payments become available again 'cause I have no credit cards.
Another point: I like to buy games at the developers' pages if possible, so I'd rather get it here like I did with Panzer Corps.
BTW, the demo is pretty nice, and I'd like to try out the newest version with Grand Strategy 2.0 mod.
Another question: Can the AI use the additions made in GS 2.0?
I'd like to get CEAW and the Panzer Corps DLCs, but I don't wanna pay nearly as much for those DLCs as I did for the full version (all three DLC, 39 to 41 are about 17 Euro at Matrix, I could get a full game for that price!) They cost 4.99 $ and 4.99€, so we really have a 1:1 exchange rate for them at Matrix.
