Edited eqp file, unit's strenght-overstrength not displayed

Post by drogon »

Hello

First of all thank you for the great game.
Prior to patch 1.05 my edited eqp file worked perfectly and when a unit had a strength of let's say 27 (strength + over strength gained by experience) it was displayed correctly during the game.

Now, when a unit's strength is above 20 it is not longer displayed and instead only 20 always appear.

I tried all the possible combination: Example:
. using a eqp file editor I set the unit max strength at 20 and using a scenario editor I set for a specific scenario an allowed over strength of 5
-> in game the unit strength is effectively 25 (if the experience gained allows this) but only 20 is displayed.....although the game takes into account 25 during its calculation (say the unit's strength + over strength is 25, the unit looses 4 strength and 20 is still displayed and in the unit's description the strength indicated is 21)

. other example: I use the original eqp file but use the scenario editor to rais the over strength limit to say 20 and the unit will always display 20 (one it has gathered the required experience) even if its real strength is 22

My question is thus: Is there an in-game strengh limit display set?

By the way, I also for testing sake changed the units max strength to 50 and in-game the game engine effectively uses 50 in its calculation........although 20 is always displayed for units strengths which are over 20

Nobody could answer please?
My question is quite simple; is there an in-game built units strength limiter?

Modified yesterday DLC 41 and the same happens whenever a unit's strength goes over 20

I can't answer for sure.
But somehow, I've always assumed that there was a limit, and that limit was 20.

Thanks a lot for your reply.

IMHO the limit is just "cosmetic/graphic" as in-game the limit displayed is always 20
(but before the 1.05 patch the graphic limit was 30) but when you right click on a unit the real strength is displayed and funnily the game engine takes into account the 'real strength' during the calculation....

For example if two opposing units have a real strength of 50 the game takes that into consideration.

My question is not to harass people but I modified the game so as to better represent (for me) operations at corps or army level, which means an infantry unit = an infantry division, a tank unit = armoured division and so on.
Thus the only way for me to simulate correctly the battles at this level was to modify all the units parameters...beginning with units strength which should at least be 20-30, 4 turns per day and so on...

Hence my question
