I would also like some clarification on this, I have just beat the DLC's on General and want a run through on Field Marshall. Can we get a list from Sergeant through to Field Marshall on what is taking place in EACH difficulty level? I think another person mentioned that adding some tool tips in-game to the difficulty levels would be appropriate.Korrigan wrote:I think this has been asked somewhere before, but I can't find an answer:
Does the AI "cheat" (on FM or any difficulty) in combat "random rolls"? Its too much of a coincidence that I am getting worse results than average and AI gets better results...
How does the difficulty setting effect the game?

I was hoping you got more turns at lower levels of play.
EDIT: Just found out that you do get more turns at lower levels of play.

Re:
The only difference I noticed on FM was that the AI seemed to be much more aggressive. I didn't notice any change in unit sizes or types but I only played half of the stock campaign on Colonel and everything else on FM.JamesNUFC wrote:I would also like some clarification on this, I have just beat the DLC's on General and want a run through on Field Marshall. Re: How does the difficulty setting effect the game?
Because I (like others) just *need* a complete list, here's my take on what i gather from this thread:
Sergeant: enemy units have a -5 strength modifier / player has experience bonuses / some reduced AI ability
Lieutenant: no strength or experience modifiers / some reduced AI ability
Colonel: no strength or experience modifiers / AI plays at an average level
General: no strength or experience modifiers / AI plays to the best of it's ability
Field Marshal: no strength modifiers /player receives a negative experience modifier / AI plays to the best of it's ability
correct?

Look in the Data folder, you will see a file named diff.pzdat.
