game locks up hard reboot on scenario end

Hi,

Just got the vanilla game of Field of Glory (digital version) running XP (up to date) and patched up the game to 1.7.1

Can play the game fine but when the game ends on a victory and the victory details come up the game hangs on hitting the CLOSE button.
Total game freeze, I can ALt TAB out and bring up TASK MANAGER but I cant end the program or kill the process. I cant even kill the process with software that does that.

All I can do is restart the PC.

Have had the same result with about 6 different scenarios, starting from the top of the list and working down.

Have had a quick look through the forum and cant seem to find this problem, any help? My graphics and sound drivers are up to date and the PC can handle the game no problem (apart from this really annoying lockup)

I suspect there is a pop up window with a message that is going behind the current window. So it looks like a freeze but the game or windows is expecting a response. Some questions.

1) Is this is single player or multiplayer online games.
2) What version of windows are you using, as in, do you have XP SP3, 32 or 64 bit?
3) What graphics card do you have?
4) How much RAM do you have.

This may allow us to replicate and fix the issue.

Hi there, thanks for getting back

single player as I am assuming the forced reboot before being able to complete the close window will negatively affect multiplayer as when I get back into the game I get a restore option to a previous save on that scenario (final turn) so it knows an error has occured (but I get no error message when the game freezes up)

XP sp3 all updated
32bit
Nvidia 9800GT

2 GIG RAM

I have uninstalled, cleared out all files and registry, restarted and put a fresh install on. I have also tried it prior to patching to final patch. However I'm still having the problem.

It plays fine apart from this but I have to close the scenario before the end to avoid the freeze.

When I ALt TAB out, Task Manager states the game is not responding and I cant exit or close the program or process at all. Plus once the scenario end freeze occurs I can't ALT TAB back into the game either.

Can you name one or more scenario's that lock up then we will try to replicate this.
