That makes sense. I bet that's it.

This is true. It will only affect games started before RC4 and where the DD's had already got ASW tech 1. The end result is the same because the DD's started with ASW 4 and now the start with ASW 5.

The only permanent situation is when you play in a game where the DD's had received the ASW tech 1 and not upgraded. These DD's will have base ASW 4 instead of 5 since they were purchased before we upped the base to 5. They can't take advantage of the tech 1 upgrade because it's removed.

It's a minor issue so there is nothing to fix for the release version
