First off I want to say I pick Panzer Corps and all its expansion packs a couple of weeks ago and I've just completed the Tutorial scenario. I got decisive victories in all scenarios but took much higher losses that I would have like in the last two scenarios. Anyway, my understanding is that I will now be given "command" of a "Panzer Corps" for "real". If I remember correctly, I played the last scenario (Kiel) with 22 core + 2 or 3 additional units. So I assume my core slots will increase as I get deeper. Since I have progress beyond the tutorial yet I don't now how many units that is.
Now my question ... are individual units battalion or regiment size?
A typical Panzer Division (not corps) contained 1 recon battalion, 1 mobile AT battalion, 1 mobile engineering battalion, 1 army flak battalion, 1 motorized infantry regiment (2 battalions), 1 tank regiment (2 battalions), 1 infantry regiment (2 battalions), 1 artillery regiment (3 battalions) and others for approximately 14 battalions. A typical Panzergrenadier division contained 6 infantry battalions (organized in 2 regiments), 3 artillery battalions (1 regiment), 1 tank battalion, 1 mechanized infantry battalion, 1 engineering battalion and others for approximately 14 to 15 battalions.
If my corps is composed of 1 armor and 1 panzergrenadier division then that would translate into 28 to 30 battalions (or 28 to 30 units).
I'm just curious what others think of my mapping and if anyone else has done this type? Of if it's define somewhere else.
Mapping to Actual Units?

I don't think there is anything specific in the design.
I've been setting it up as 2 panzers + 2 inf + 2 arty = div but I've seen 1+1+1 as a division as well. More than anything, set it up how you like the feel.
Core does increase as you work through the scenarios but i don't remember the size specifically.
If you'd like a game, you can be Germans in the first Polish scenario!
I need some revenge!!!!!

I hope this helps:
When playing the vanilla campaign I use the icons as rgts/wings and follow the standard Werhmacht TO&E(IE:PzDiv=2 Inf. Rgts. ,1 Pz.Rgt.,and 1 Arty Rgt.).
I usally use 2 fight.,1 tac and 1 strat as a fictional Luftflotte assigned to each "division". I use the same air mix in the DLC'S
In the DLC is when I break it up (the unit scale) into Batts. and also follow the Werhmact TO&E,due to the need for a more diverse mix of units.
The above has really worked well for me,but then again everybody finds their own style for their particular style of play.
Have fun.

By the way, I would use email to communicate all this with you but my ISP email severer is down and won't be back up until sometime this afternoon or evening. Hopefully it will come back up then and we can communicate via email after that.

I'm not sure what the official makeup with respect to the number of divisions was for a corps but if you build one with one Panzer division and one Panzergrenadier division then you would have 14 + 15, or 29, total battalions.
By the way, these TOE are from the designer's notes of Avalon Hill's Panzer Leader.
