Sinbugun were the Kwang-gun infantry armed with Shield and long spears with cured point in the Koryo Korean army (answer on page 92)

Also if anybody could say how that trebuchet on the opposite page works I'd be most appreciative.

Now you have 2 wrong answers. If the men on the short end pull on their ropes the long end will move down, and its very difficult to push on a rope.

Now you have 2 wrong answers. If the men on the short end pull on their ropes the long end will move down, and its very difficult to push on a rope.
They pull the ropes down the long ARM goes up the round flies out just like a normal trebuchet, instead of a weight it uses man power

Well its horribly badly drawn then. In the picture the rope is tight, they are pulling and if they pull more the arm on their side will go higher.

The way I look at the picture the men have pulled the thing hard down and it has swung the long arm upwards. Then once the short arm got as far as the men could pull it kept going and has just stopped moving having pulled the ropes tight the other way.

Doesn't look at all implausible to me.
