River Bonus(Penalty) bug?

Post by CrimsonStorm »

Normally a unit attacking a unit located on a river, or on a bridge over a river gets +4 to its attack and defense.

However I noticed in Lillehammer (DLC39) that a unit located on the bridges in 8,6, 10,10 or 17,4 doesn't suffer this penalty. I guess this is because the hex is classified as lake (8,6 & 17,4) or sea (10,10) not river.

Surely these should be even worse hexes as you are stuck on a long bridge with no room to spread to avoid incoming fire.

Not 100% sure but in Lillehammer the ground (and the rivers and lakes) are more or less always frozen so that's probably why there's no penalty.

Edit: it's not the frozen ground, I am just playing the Dijon scenario, there's a lake and bridge at 9,9 and when I attack I do not get any penalty.

Normally when you attack from a hex with a bridge across the river you do get the penalty.

I guess it should be changed to include lakes aswell.

Is there any chance of an official response this?

The same thing also occurs at Dunkirk (4,13).
