installing
Hello,
I have brought a copy of great battles of rome, and was having problems installing it. I replaced this copy for a new 1 but still having the same problem. When the installshield wizard comes up the program ends up not responding. I have more than the system requirements to run the game but this shouldn't matter as it should still install and just not run very well. Has this problem occurred before and is there a fix.
regards,
Dan

The logos on the box are Black Bean & Slitherine.
My machine specs are as follows,
AMD Atholon 64 X2 3800+ 2.2 GHz AM" dual core CPU, 1GB DDR2 533 RAM, 256 PCI express NVidia Geforce 7600GT graphics ,18x DVD+/-rw DL drive, NVidia NForce 4 motherboard.
I am still able to install other games, it is just this one i am having problems with.
If you need any more info please let me know, i have a run the DxDiag program and everything seems fine, how do i attach a copy for you to see.

Have just changed the DVD so will try again.
The other DVD went to install, then stopped. I have XP not Vista. I also have full admin rights. I tried it four or five times last night - but each point was the same. Gets to install, you click the path, then click install and it stops.
And yes my video drivers are up to date.
I will try the new DVD soon.
But..is this a problem with the software?

It's not a problem we've heard of before. If the installer failes to run it sounds like an issues with the disk or the drive reading it. Do you see the autorun menu appear with install, readme, diorectX etc? Does anything happen when you click install? You could try exploring the DVD and looking for the setup exe and running that directly in case it is failing to find it for some reason.
