Main list limitations and allies

If a main list has minimums if any infantry are used does that apply if the main list has no infantry but the ally does?

Yes, otherwise it would say any except allied.

I'm at work Bob. Off the top of my head its in one of the earlier books. Bactrian has something like 'any foot' and maybe parthian or skythian says any except allied
