Great scenario - Battle of Pavia
Hi there
Had the great pleasure in playing this game recently (and lost overall).
It is based on a battle that took place in 1523 but Pete has done a remarkable job with it.
It is a very strategic battle so my advice would be to really think ahead with movement.

This is by stockwellpete who deserves a huge amount of credit as he has now made quite a few scenarios.
Cheers
Eric

We played a paired game. Both battles were won by the Imperialists, one comfortably, the other one much more narrowly.ZeaBed wrote:Very helpful feedback for future players of this scenario. Which sides did you gentlemen play? Who won, the Imperial or the French side? Historically, iirc, it was a large, seesawing battle in which Francis I ended up a prisoner of the forces of Charles V.

Ahum I beg to differ
Pete won with the Imperialists and had 65% losses, while I won with 78%
I shold also specify that I gave Pete 2 very easy rear charges which sent my army over the edge, based on him whinging about I can't kill this, I can't kill that (unless that was an auto suggestion chat hypnotic trick, luring me into giving you the game, you cad LOL)
I reckon I would have 70% maybe 71% but I lost overall.
Was thinking this would be a brilliant Renaissance tt historical scenario as well.
Shame that you couldn't multi/multi play it in the pc game. Where 4 or mroe players could play. Now that would eb fun.

Yes, that would be very interesting, Eric, because both the armies are spread right across the map and the various contingents of each army are separated from each other by terrain features (walls etc).ericdoman1 wrote:Shame that you couldn't multi/multi play it in the pc game. On TT I would imagine that you would need quite a big table. Would 6x4 be big enough? Maybe it is one that would need to be played at a club?

Not around over Xmas
Hi Pete
Nope in Wales over the hols.
Tim Porter is prob the guy to contact but you should just pop in as you can see quite a lot of various games are played and just introduce yourself.
Had a look at the site and I think I recognised some players but not sure about their names, one may have been Andy?
Shouldn't take too long for you to get home as well.
If we don't speak agian this year have a great hol and a brill 2012.
Cheers

Yes, the French have won 3 or 4 times in games that I have played against other people. It is hard for the French though.bloodphoenix wrote:I've very much enjoyed playing this scenario, even after multiple plays. Although after trying several different strategies as the French, I find myself asking the question...can they beat the Imperials?
Has anyone seen it happen?
