Just conquered France. Now what do I do?

Post by tsnouffer »

I just took Paris. I'm playing in a PBeM game. It is August 1940 (rats!). Seems too late to start Barbarossa. The Allies are ruling the sea in the Med so I think an Africa campaign is unlikely.

I'm not sure that I am ready for Sea Lion either. I'm inclined to build up and prepare for an early spring Barbarossa, but Spring seems so far off!

I've been so brought with anxiety over this that I haven't submitted a turn for nearly two weeks!

Can anyone give me some encouragement and strategy?

Thanks!

Is this a GS v2.0 game? Well if he has a lot of naval in the MED - Then YES try a Sea lion, but be quick, as winter is approaching. Or you could build up for your spring Russian Offensive. Check the manual, you are not lost yet, far from it. Once in 09, I didn't take Paris until October, but I was still aggressive in the Med, and built up for an Early Summer Barbarossa, We eventually had a draw - So, really check the Manual - It is really good for advice in this situation.

You can also read AAR section of this forum. It shows how other players played and prepared for 1941.
Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few.

Funny...I've been wondering the same thing. I just started a new game (and I'm a new player) and defeated France in the first June turn. I've decided to skip both Sea Lion and Africa. I invaded and took Norway and am now concentrating on building 4 more Panzer corps, 2 mech inf corps, and 5-7 Inf corps to add to what I have and attempt Barbarossa in May.

Last game I played, the Russians killed me during the Winter of '41 and I ran out of oil on several turns so I'm trying to conserve the latter too.
