I was only able to play around a little last nite and go thru the tutorials. , check out the graphics etc
*alt graphics Awsome!, really enjoy the nato counters and the modern style map graphics
*tutorials for the most part pretty usefull with exception of naval combat, No idea what was happening except i kept going in a cycle from the main map to the sea combat , shot and sank a single polish ship, and then next turn?? (not even sue if it was a turn) another polish ship would pop up to be sunk.... it wasnt clear why only one polish ship at a time was on the sea "tac map"
maybe a tutorial for "diplomacy" as well? ( i do realize diplomacy is limited but might be useful anyhow)
performance
Same issue that people are reporting over at Matrix, when you scroll too far over to the right edge to get to the buttons, the map scrolls against your wishes
Map lag: scrolling east to west is adequate, north to south though is slow and stuttery and then lightning jumps… this likely is because of my g-card, ailing old pc but still, I can scroll smoothly on some of the busiest Medieval TW 2 maps , and this is a 2d hex game…
Zooming: each + - only zooms in out at like a 1% rate, at least a full mouse wheel revolution for same. Any way that can be tweaked a little? Very tiring to the wrists
Game resolution
(btw my monitor resolution is set at 1680x1050) Looking for an optimum in game res as I find when zoomed in far enough so you can actually read the #’s on units, its too far in to get an overall assesment of the map. Anyways the ingame preferences warns NOT to set the game res = or > than your monitors res. Any reason for this? (will I cause a fire?)
Great looking game though , I did take a few turns in the Fall Gelb campaign and moving units, creating pockets of enemy units to isolate and mop up was intuitive and a lot of fun. Cant wait for the work day to be over so I can dive back in , cheers
