Stockport Pick'n'Mix 2011 - December 10th/11th 2011

Post by hammy »

Just to confirm I will be running the Pick'n'Mix again this year. Hopefully this post will answer most questions. Players intending attending, please pop me an e-mail and I will add your name to the list of entries which I will copy into the next post in this thread.

The format is two one day tournaments, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. Players can play either day or both days, the same system each day or different ones, whatever takes their fancy. If playing the same period every effort will be made to ensure that players do not play the same player twice.

OK, not too long to go now. I would really like lists by the end of this week if at all possible.

If any of the 15mm FoG players are willing to play 25mm it would be good to keep the scale available. Of the various options the 25mm is the one with the most issues player wise :(

What day are you running 25mm? I might be able to do it if it doesn't clash with Fog R.

Hmm, the initial plan was to do FoG:R on Sunday but that was to accommodate Paul Johnston who now can't make it and Adrian wants to play on Saturday which clashes with when the only player entered for 25mm can attend so I fear that your generous offer does not really work :( I will however bear it in mind.

*EDIT* some more entries and shuffling and drop outs all reflected in the list above.

FoG:R is definitley Satruday now and unless we can find 2 more players it will have to stay as one day only.
FoG:25 is still in need of at least 2 players for Saturday..... anyone?

I have been away running another tournament over the weekend and am working away from home for the next couple of days.

At the moment I have a load of army lists to check (thanks for those who have sent them, send them ASAP if you haven't) and will probably get them done either tomorrow night or Wednesday.

FoG:R despite a couple of late drop outs is still at the moment good to go.

FoG:25 is struggling, if anyone wants to play FoG:25 on Friday please let me know ASAP.

Both FoG:R and FoG:25 are going to be on Saturday.

Hammy,

If there is anyone miffed over missing FOGR at Stockport due to schedule changes and desperate to play then point them towards the Slimbridge 2 day 25mm FOGR event for the same weekend please :) We've room for a couple more takers.

I think that the only player available both days that was after FoG:R is Kevin. I am sorry that I ended up on the same weekend as you though, I did not have a lot of option in the end.

Hope your event goes well, it is interesting to see 25mm Renaissance reappearing.

Hi
Tomorrow morning i am on the train with the Boy in tow. So just to say to my first opponent that if I am not there when they are calling out the names then I am probably in transit, dragging Boy, somewhere, hopefully close.

Thanks to Hammy and all my opponents for a cracking tournament. 6 games, 4 with army breaks from either side and one that was as close to breaking as you could get.

A little dissapointed to see the Dom Rom virus has begun to infect this tournament. Come on everybody use your imagination and keeps this game as varied as possible.

It was only on Saturday Matt, and they still didn't win anything!

They didn't win anything Spike?

How come I have a box of sweets and a nice velite then?

Mind you I took a Dom Rom with 6 BG's of 6 base HF so not quite morally bankrupt.

Just a thought on from what Matt has said, the 650 event is great and the fun of it is just that the fun of it. Should it become like a lot of events in the UK must win tournements and games or worse must'nt lose games it would lose a lot of its shine.

If possible maybe a theme should as bayfog is thinking of limiting troop types or try and get people along with armies they'd not normally play.

Maybe not putting this up for a rankings place would allow people to bring different armies, I still think you'd get a big take up even if it was'nt ranked.

Before people say i brought a tournement army i brought an undrilled heavy foot army to play on Sunday.
