Redundant Traits

Post by jaggy »

Would appreciate it if the game designers could fix the occurence of combat units gaining traits that they already have. There are only 3 slots available for each unit and to have a repetition would mean that a combat unit's potential is diminished. I don't want to reload and make a different move just to prevent this. If possible, could this fix be included in Patch 1.05?

Also, I think its been mentioned before by others, that its really tough figuring out which units have heroes and what their traits are. The current quick fix is renaming a unit to indicate its traits eg. "1st Panzer Mov+1, Attk+2", etc but one needs to keep renaming those units that gain traits. As some of these traits are important, I now make it a point to check all units during the deployment phase to see whether I missed renaming any. It is possible to enhance the GUI so that when F6 is invoked, we not only get to see the unit name, flag and stats but their traits as well? Maybe include it under the unit name and units type and before the units stats? Example:

1st Panzer
Panzer IIIF
Move +2
Initiative +3

Strength 10/10
Fuel 58/62
Ammo 6/8
Entrench 0/0

Patch 1.05 is finalized several days ago, we cannot possibly make any changes in it now.

Not sure what you mean by redundant traits. If you refer to heroes, their effects are cumulative, so +1 attack and +2 attack will sum up to +3 attack. This means that any hero you get is useful, there is no redundancy.

Yup! But It would be nice in a future update if it showed the accumulative bonus points in the quick stat side bar, or hover-over or something. It is sorta inconvienient to know what unit has what bonuses. (I use the naming convention but for units that get 3 heros and 3 diff traits, it gets to be a bit sloppy..heh)

I know.. sorta nitpicky. Im sure there is a few zillion more important things to do.

Better indication of hero traits would be good, I did not object to that part. :) Just did not understand what the topic starter meant by redundant traits.

Thanks for the clarification, Rudankort. I had read in some other post that if you get the same trait, the effect would not be cumulative. Now, I know otherwise. But as per the second para, I hope that the trait info can be displayed in the GUI.

I think it would be a neat option.
