Wrong Campaign Path
I had played Panzer Corps at the lowest level and completed the stock campaign. I then decided to replay the campaign at Field Marshall level and with Mick Mannock’s Custom Campaign. My campaign path to-date displayed below:
Poland (DV)
Norway (MV)
Low Countries (DV)
France (MV)
Greece (MV)
Crete (MV) – Mick Mannock’s map
Barbarossa (MV)
Kiev (MV)
Moscow ’41 (MV)
Sevastopol (MV) – Mick Mannock’s map
Stalingrad (MV)
Kharkov (MV) – Mick Mannock’s map
Kursk (DV)
Moscow ’43 (DV)
However, after getting a DV at Moscow ’43, got a rude shock when I ended up in Overlord! I’ve checked the Campaign Tree several times. To get to the USA East Coast, you need DVs in Kursk and Moscow ’43, which I obtained but still ended up on the wrong path. This was the exact path that I followed in my earlier campaign.
I remember some talk on the forum about Stalingrad being bugged at FM level but checking the Campaign Tree, it shows that whatever the result at Stalingrad you still end up in Kursk. Would appreciate any advice on where I went wrong and if possible how to get back on the campaign path to the USA, as I want to unlock the extra difficulty levels.
For some reason, Stalingrad automatically ended several Game Turns by itself after I attacked Baku (my last objective in Stalingrad) but before I had the chance to move a unit onto it. As I got a Marginal Victory, though it ended like 8 or 10 turns before the deadline, I just got on with the subsequent scenarios. Any advice from all (devs included) would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Vaughn is correct. In order to get to the US, you need to take out Britain with a DV and there are two chances to do that. First is Sealion '40 and you needed to get DV's in both Low Countries and France to go there (then a DV in Rush to Moscow, Moscow '41 or Moscow '43 takes you to US East Coast). You got the DV in Low Countries, but not in France so you were unable to go to Sealion '40. Your second chance to take out Britain is Sealion '42. To get there you needed to get a DV in either Rush to Moscow or Moscow '41. You skipped Rush to Moscow, went to Kiev and then got a MV in Moscow '41 which prevented you from going to Sealion '42.Vaughn wrote:It look like you didn't take out Britain during the Sealion scenarios. They are still hanging around in '44.
The Moscow '43 route to the US is only in effect if you are on the green path of the Campaign tree below. This only happens if you take out Britain in Sealion '40 (option #1 above) which you missed out on doing by getting a MV in France. Once you missed that opportunity, DV in Rush to Moscow or Moscow '41 and then a DV Sealion '42 is the only other path to the US. My guess is that, in your previous campaign, you got the DV in France and Sealion '40 which put you on the green path and you got to the US via the Moscow '43 route.
One final note: if you decide to play the campaign again, I strongly recommend getting on the green path of the Campaign tree by getting the DV in Sealion '40. '40 is much, much easier than '42. The British Navy and Air Force are quite a bit larger in '42 which makes getting a DV much harder (which is needed in order to get to the US).

That's right, but it can happen, that in 1940, you are still not strong enough to attack the brits.
After Moscow'41, you have more units, and they are also more experienced. Of cause, that is only my experience, but with Rommel mode, it was even hard, to make an MV in Low countries.

@ El Condoro - I did see it but couldn't figure out what it meant.
@ Vaughn - Didn't realise that Sealion was not optional.
@ AgentX - I deliberately took an MV in France as I wanted to try Mick Mannock's custom campaigns and the only way to get to try Crete, Sevastopol, Kharkov, etc was through Greece. In short, I was trying to extend the campaign with extra scenarios as I found the first campaign with 14 scenarios a little short. Appreciate your advice on Sealion '40 vs '42.
@ Uhu - appreciate the insights.
Hey, guys, thanks. I appreciate all the advice and insights. I've well and truly shot myself in the foot (though it feels more like the head
) All this, just because I wanted a more extended run in the campaign with more scenarios. Didn't know Sealion (either '40 or'42) was an absolute must. I think I'm gonna take a break. My core team were doing rather well, so this came as a bit of a shock. Cheers.

Of course you can just modify the campaign.pzdat (easily done in excel), and think about it as some roleplay (some other general took england, while you were ill or so, whatever).
Replaying all the campaign with FM when you are good enough to play it on one of the extra difficulties would be rather, well, masochistic...
Just play the england scenario standalone, instead of restarting the whole campaign.

longer, alternative "PG" like Campaign new version 0.34 from 2011.08.02 (another bugfix & now in zip format)
Hi, Locarnus, I think you just possibly saved my sanity. I was feeling rather deflated thinking of replaying all those scenarios just to get to USA East. I've taken your suggestion and checked out "campaign.pzdat" but I would appreciate it if you could tell me which line to modify and what I need to replace it with. Much appreciated and thanks in advance.

Hi jaggy. To play USA after DV in Moscow 43 you need this campaign file (unzip it and place in your game folder instead of default one):

Rudankort, Thank you! Thank you! and Thank you! Copied and pasted the file you gave me, reloaded my Moscow '43 game save and now at the deployment screen for USA East Coast.Rudankort wrote:Hi jaggy.
