Strange happenings in Britain in a GS 2.0 game

Post by Ironclad »

In a Britain that is mainly Axis occupied, a number of hexes have suddenly switched to Allied control. Some of these were close to US units in the far north or partisans in other parts, others were not near any allied units. Even stranger some of these Allied hexes emerged where Axis units occupied the hexes including some cities (Liverpool/Aberdeen) and in non-city hexes the occupying units were shown out of supply. First time I've seen this happen. A bug?

That is strange indeed. Is this with the released version of GSv2.0. What game mode are you playing (i.e., vs AI, hotseat, PBEM)?

Its a pbem game using the released version of GS 2.0. My opponent suggested that it may have been connected to Axis units whose countries subsequently switched sides (whilst still being wrong and a bug) but I was careful to move them out of the UK or eliminated them quickly and many of the hexes concerned were traversed or occupied by German/Italian (still Axis). Whats really weird is seeing cities occupied by German units and showing as Allied controlled and when I move a unit out, it won't allow me to rail another in until I regain control by moving in a land unit with normal non-rail movement.

O.K. If I understand you then the cities/hexes that you're having problems with were originally captured by axis minor units from countries that have now switched sides to the allies. Is this correct? If so, I this is really strong incentive for keeping axis minors in the east.
