Hi All,
I see a number of new troop types that need to be incorporated into a fantasy version of FOG. I have written rules for all of these, their POA interations, movement rules, etc.
Flying Behemoths - Dragons, etc
Flyers - Eagles, Griffin Riders, etc
Flying Vehicles - Dwarf Zepplins, High Elf Air Galleys, etc
Behemoths - Land based monsters, Basilisks, Great Wyrms, etc
Fantastical Mounted (knights, Chariots, Cav, LH) - Wolf riders, Boar-riders, Lizard riders, Tiger riders, etc
Giants - Giants, Ettins, Treemen, etc
Large Humanoids - Ogres, Minotaurs, Trolls, etc
Steam Tanks
Flame Throwers
Let me know if you would like any more info and would like to play test some of these?
Best,
Mark

Re: New Troop Types
Why do you need Fantastical Mounted? Aren't the available troop types enough to cover most fantasy stuff... For instance, LotR Warg riders. They are less numerous and smaller than typical Cavalry, yet could be classed as Cav based upon the fact that they are rather nasty bity things (or, they could just be Light Horse, as they move rather quickly and could probably evade).MNFS wrote:Hi All,

Also, wouldn't giants and such just be like elephants? Or, do you want to give them combat abilities or weapons?

Some thoughts about Flyers. To keep things as close to FoG baseline rules as possible, we could say the following:
Flyers charging non-flyers in a non-frontal direction gain a PoA.
Flyers are more vulnerable / less vulnerable to shots from war machines
etc
- -All flyers are treated as skirmishers. Mounted flyers are, in addition, treated as light cavalry.
-Flyers ignore all terrain and units they move over in their turn. (To keep things sane, though, probably want to say that flyers cannot end their turn over another unit.)
