Victory conditions counter?

Post by Aloo »

Is there any place in the game where I can check how well I'm doing in the scenarios where I need to destroy a given number of units (trains, boats, destroyers etc). I always forget to count and then I am wondering how I'm doing when the game suddenly ends with DV.

I had this in Kampinoska and now in Dunkirk.

I guess the answer is no since there are so few of those scenarios but maybe Im wrong.

On another note - playing Dunkirk I missed what one user said about the possibility to make annotations on the map. It would help me to mark where transports were spotted.

I believe that would be a nice addition: having a counter in the briefing showing how many objectives you have completed out how many (something like 10 of 20 trains destroyed). Of course, that would also require the ability to call up the briefing anytime you want (another common request). It would be nice to have a toggle switch on the main UI (like where the air/ground switch and overhead map toggle are at). Or, it could be in the Settings UI. Sometimes you forget how many objectives are left or turns remaining for Decisive Victory and the ability to bring up the briefing would be nice. Hopefully, they'll be able to add this in the future.

This is the downside of flexibility our victory condition system allows - it is very tricky to indicate your progress in the UI in a meaningful way. But yes, this request is on our todo list.

I played the "UK" scenarios today. Dunkirk ended abruptly in turn 8.
If Nieuport isnt a necessary objective for DV, it shouldnt have a gold border.

It is an objective in the single play version of the scenario. The DLC campaigns are compatible for single scenario play too, should someone decide to play in that manner, just like the stock campaign.
It's also necessary to guide the AI, which is primarily driven by VH markings.

I had exactly the same thing happen, thats why I asked about a place to check how the objectives are going for me.
