Vanilla equipment file

Post by nikivdd »

Since this question is part under NDA i prefer to post it here at this time.

I made a first campaign pack using the units of the current live version (including the capturable Mathilda II, Char B1 and so on)
Taking advantage of the transferable core option i want to continue developing the campaign and release a second pack.
For this i will wait until v1.05 and DLC 41 go live. The upgrade then will contain even more units which i'd like to implement in the second pack (especially the YUG Bf109 and capturable russian tanks).
Now, can cores be transfered from the first to the second without any problems for a different vanilla equipment file?

As long as you aren't removing units or replacing units from the equipment file, you should be fine.
Units that expire from going out of date no problem.

DLC 1939 uses a similar equipment file to the default, with a few 'captured' units added.
DLC 1941 uses a similar equipment file to DLC 1939, with a few more 'captured' units added.
Each new equipment file is 100% backwards compatible with earlier DLCs or even the stock game because equipment files only gain lines (change reserved to a used line) they never move units by replacement or change an active line into a 'reserved' slot.

But if line... 974 is a tank in the old equipment file, and suddenly that line is removed or changed to a fighter, then you're going to run into problems.

Does that explain it?
