Be prepared to be "WOW'ed"!!

Post by flakfernrohr »

It seems that the talents of so many smart and creative people are making Panzer Corps just a really outstanding game. It seems almost limitless. I have met some of the most helpful and great guys on this forum and I want to thank ALL of you for contributing. I want to give something back to you, but I cannot take the credit. It was done for me by another member who will remain anonymous. I did tell him that I would share all his work he did for me with the members of the forum.

UPDATE-UPDATE-UPDATE!!!!!!!!!!! FEB. 2012This is the newest link to the newest improved camouflage skinned icons that Rezaf just did. I put this LINK on this thread and it is about three pages down, some of you may not find it. So here is the newest version of these excellent skins with some additional units added like the Brumbar, PZJgr IV L/70 (A) Alkett and maybe some others. :)

Hopefully when I can hone my skin making skills better, I can provide some different skins for Rezaf to put on other units. He is doing some for me now that I will provide to the forum as well when I get them. They are Soviet units captured by Germans and Finnish and Hungarian skins put on German and Soviet tanks for custom scenarios and "what if" situations.

In an effort to keep those of you who are new to the forum and Panzer Corps, I am providing the link to the newest version of the PzC Equipment Editor done by Mr. Garnett. This link takes you to the Matrix Forum where he updates it from time to time. He is a wonderful fellow who will help you in any way possible with this very useful mod. This mod will make it possible to create and change units with the skinned icons. This thread has a good bit of information about doing this for your Panzers and how to implement the icons in the game and make them unique so that there will be only one unit for the icon if you choose to do so.

Hopefully there will be something in this ZIP file of PANZER SKINS that you will like. NOTE: THIS IS THE ORIGINAL LINK AND FILE. IT STILL HAS EXCELLENT UNITS SKINNED BY REZAF BACK IN NOVEMBER.

There are many many variations as you will see, but there is enough variety to at least be able to pick out a lot of favorites you will want in your games.

I hope you enjoy playing with all the great looking Panzers!

lol.

You should put in a few previews so people know what they're getting before downloading the 70 meg file.

A few of those ... err ... look as if they were meant as proof-of-concept skins which need a little more work. Just saying.

I just took a rough overview, but I found these great. You did work on existing units or? They have the same style (which I like very much)

These are examples of the 35 camouflages.
Each armoured vehicle (not counting the Opel Blitz) has these 35 camouflages.
Great work.

I dl-ed those while waiting for my game to arrive this weekend. Thx to the anonymous creator. I don't like all the patterns, but there's so much variety that there are still enough of those I do like and will use.

PS. The white ones are UN peacekeepers... ;)

The camouflage patterns were done for larger armor and trucks, but in a reckless FIT of generosity, the artist did EVERYTHING! Some of the colors and schemes do not work well on smaller units and the colors did not come out the same shades as on the original pattern, but overall I call it a tremendous success for the variations. There are several winter patterns for instance and of course several patterns for each individual armor piece along with several variations of "Africa Corps Mustard, dunkelgelb, sandfarben, etc.".

If any of you want to have copies of the patterns to do some skinning or whatever, I can make a file and put it on a download site. The colors are copied from the book "Wehrmacht/Heer Camouflage Colors 1939-1945" by Thomas Chory. It has paint chips in it in all the various colors; however subtle they may be. And most of the patterns are copied from either actual photos taken in the war or from Modeler pictures and Armor collector pieces.

VPaulus, I do not have a "name" for this mod, but I suppose you could call it "Panzer Wardrobe" maybe or "Panzer Paint Shop"?

Ranta, Yes these are the "stock" PzC icons.

I have all of these on pages I made from "Paint" on my computer. I did them, sent them to the generous skinner and he did the rest. I can make a download of these patterns if you want. They are easy to do and a lot of fun. It's pretty amazing what a silly little application like "Paint" can achieve. If you want a download file of the "skins", I will put them together and set them up on the same site as the PzC icon file can be downloaded. They would both be on the same site.

Hello BriteLite. I'll look into it and see what the problem is. You do realize that this file called "Panzer Camouflage Skins" is JUST THE camouflage patterns in pictures that can be USED as skins I hope. The real meat of the matter is in the first link with all of the skinned units.

OK BriteLite: Too bad you are a "tea sipper". I am a Mustang. You know what they call an intelligent man on the campus of Texas A&M???????????????? Stranger.

Here is the link. I hope it works. THIS IS THE FILE FOR JUST THE SKIN PATTERNS: http://www.mediafire.com/?l6ky7mssoenq8

THIS IS THE FILE FOR THE SKINNED ARMOR UNITS: http://www.mediafire.com/?w1kk0jty6qfb8pi

BTW, these are EZ to do and lots of fun. Since I was not the man doing the skinning, I really had no idea about how to render the stuff in a size scale, so that is why they look so overwhelming on small armor units. A Maus seems to display them to their best artistic display ability, but at least now I can identify the tuned up "hot rod" and "high velocity" armor I sometimes employ in my battles. Have fun, I did and still do.

Maybe someone can add some patterns of their own. I tried doing "circular" pattern camouflage, but I could not get the scale right for the circles. Pretty damned tedious in any scale without a stencil. I dirtied up the first two shade variations of dunklegelb and the first winter snow pattern with some weathering in tiny dots and they worked out perfect on these little icons for armor.

Thanks for the picture Kerensky! I have long admired your Flammpanzers.

This really is an insane amount of unit skins, heh. :D
2065 images? Mind boggling. How long did it take to make it all?
