Hi Namdaets,
Have you checked Caesar III from Sierra for getting the adequate war-elephant sound? As far as I can remember there were war elephants in that game and the sound files are in the wav. format like the legion sound files. I guess there is only a half way solution for your problem
: The only option you have is to replace some of the cavalry sound files with elephant sounds. As long as your army consits of horsemen and elephants its O.K. but it might sound a little bit strange if you put only one of them on the virtual battlefield!

Well, you need not to subsitute all "horse noises" for the elephant sounds. There are about half a dozen or so Cavalry wav. files in the data folder. If you replace lets say two with elephant sound you will be able to have both sound effects in the game although they can not be directly assignedto the respective units. As I have mentioned before it is still not a perfect solution since you will still hear elephants when there are none on the battlefield and vice versa.
