Just reporting in... I downloaded and installed the demo without any problems. So far I've played through the first three scenarios of the tutorial, and everything seems fine. I'll try to wrap up the rest of the tutorial and play the mini-campaign in the next day or so. BTW, I love the splash screen that comes up before the demo closes out -- very nice work, it really captures a good "feel" for the game.
ok this is becomeing a joy, have the file downloaded, it's 400mb, when I try to run it, I'm told I need a x86 32 or 64 bit verison, I guess, I'm makeing progress.........on a lighter note, love the 41 beta, the expanded Blakens and Crete, play is a bit differant, but it is just like the old PG, so the comfort factor is there, so far, on the barrabarsoa, now and plays very differant from PG and panzer core. I'll report more as i progress in the campain.VPaulus wrote:The zip file is 375 MB (393.716.826 bytes).

I finished the demo tutorial and everything seems to be working fine. However, I did catch two small mistakes in the briefings. I figure I'll list them here, in case the corrections might get considered for a new patch.
In the May 2nd tutorial, first paragraph, where it says, "...your Stuka's to combat..." it should read "your Stukas to combat..."
In the June 3rd tutorial, third paragraph, where it says "...to the Northwestern..." it should read "to the Northwest..."
I'll finish the mini-campaign tomorrow just to be sure the whole package is sound.

Guys I installed and ran through the whole demo without issue. Well, I had one crash to desktop, but I was doing a ton in the background and I chalked it up to that. I have to say this. The demo was great, as long as you play the tutorial. If people skip that they may feel it is short. Just my humble thoughts.. System wise it worked fine and I found no problems.

Finished the demo without an issue. With the inclusion of the tutorial and the first two scenarios its size is optimum.
But - as nikkivdd stated it before - it'd be really showing the sheer magnitude of PC if there was some sort of late war scenario contained. It makes so much more fun to go on stampede with a Tiger than to chip away at the enemy with a Panzer II!

I played through the demo campaign and found no issues... I think the guys above are on to something, though. Perhaps instead of making the Norway scenario available, maybe offer the first few turns of the Kursk 1943 for play? That would allow buyers to see late-war models in action, and in a late-war scenario where the Germans have a decent chance on the offensive.
Other than this suggestion, I think demo achieves its purpose in giving prospective buyers a good look at the PzC engine.

Final assessment of the demo:
The demo downloaded, unzipped, and installed flawlessly. I played through the entire content of the demo without a hitch. I think the demo will be a great way to get new players interested in Panzer Corps. It's a fun introduction to the game that gives a good feel for how the game plays, as well as whet your appetite for the full version & expansions.
As a side note, my 14 yr old daughter watched me play over the weekend, and found it interesting enough to try it herself. She ended up playing through most of the demo!
She's never shown any interest in wargames of any kind, but this demo piqued her interest enough for her to try it out. Now she wants to play the full game. If the demo was able to catch my daughter's interest then I think you have a winner on your hands.

The demo is a great idea. I know some people (even former PG players, sigh) that would be interested in the game, but just, as sad as it is, are not considering paying full price for a non-(so called) AAA game (I know, I know ...). I am pretty sure the demo will hook them however, so I'll pass the word as soon as it is officially available
I agree with the remark about making a few turns of a late war scenario available, however I'd let the Norway scenario here, it's one of my favorites from the base game, and has the potential to hook people even more than the relatively basic Poland one.

Guys, when you copy the PASSWORD to unzip the demo...
... make sure NOT to have an extra "space" at the end of the PW, if you have it, the PW is incorrect and the file will appear "corrupted".
I hope that solves your issues.
Fine demo for a fine game. Didn't play through the Panzer School, not that much time atm sorry but Poland works.

I have run through the complete demo twice now, and it seems to be error and bug free. More importantly, it is a lot of fun. I think the amount of content in this demo is generous. At first I thought it might even be a bit too generous, and that some people might just content themselves with playing the demo a few times. But I am convinced ( and especially after reading BLBlake's comment about his daughter liking the demo) that this free "taste" will not fully satisfy anyone's hunger, and they will want MORE!
One note---in my demo plays, I received a few heroes. There was a nice little dialogue that popped up about the hero, but it doesn't explain how that hero will help in the future. Although I know how he will help, perhaps for the sake of a newcomer trying the demo the dialogue should contain an explanation about the heroe's impact.

Chance favours the prepared mind.
