Hey everyone!
I have been playing this game for several weeks now, and the replayability value of Panzer Corps is extremely high! However, I decided that I should start modding and adding some of my own custom made units into this game, and I encountered this fine tool called "Equipment Editor".
I downloaded the 0.7.0 version, and as far as I can notice, it's a powerful tool, but I'm afraid I'm totally lost on how to use it properly. I don't know how to open the existing files (units) in it, and how to edit their properties?
How can I make a unit from scratch and add it to my active units in my editor?
If some of you guys happen to know the answers to these questions, I'll be happy to share some of my creations with you on this forum.
Cheers!

Welcome to the forums, Handzar. First question is, have you read the Editor manual? That is a great place for the first run through of how to use the Editor. It doesn't cover new unit icons but there are guys on this forum who know how to do that. When you get into the Editor and have some specific questions don't hesitate to ask them here.
For the existing scenarios, copy them (the pzscn file and the optional pzloc file) from your Panzer Corps\Data folder to your user folder of My Games\Panzer Corps\scenario (create it if it's not there and note it is singular, not 'scenarios'). Then open the pzscn in the Editor to edit it. To play it choose Scenario, Custom (bottom of list) and click the scenario name and away you go.
Cheers and enjoy the modding - it's a lot of fun.

Thank you for your warm welcome El Condoro. I do know how to make scenarios, I've mastered the scenario editor in a matter of few days, but what bothers me is adding custom made units to the editor units list. I've successfully created one scenario in Normandy with basic units from the game, but I wanted to import one of these custom units that I've found on the forums, and some of my own that I made in Photoshop as well.El_Condoro wrote:Welcome to the forums, Handzar. I already have experience in modding for some other WW2 games, but I must confess that I do get lost in the whole folder structure from time to time
I hoped that this Equipment Editor would help me spare some precious time that I lose to write parameters manually in notepad++

That's outside my expertise but I suggest two things before someone who knows helps you. Check out the list of mods in the sticky and add two tools: the Generic Mod Enabler and mgarnett's Equipment Editor.
Sticky thread of mods
Someone else will have to help you with the addition of graphics, the efx file and the sfx files that each unit uses - you can see them in the equipment.pzeqp file in the Data folder, which can be edited using Excel or Notepad++. Good luck.

Thank you for your help man, I appreciate it. I didn't realise there was already a thread open about that tool. If I manage to find the answer I will post it here as well, after which you can either decide to lock the thread or just leave it for future eager moddersEl_Condoro wrote:So he is!If he posts on that thread, mgarnett will probably respond with some help, or someone else.
