Nikivdd report DLC 41 beta 2

Post by nikivdd »

Belgrade

Still playing on General level.

Once again imported core from DLC 40. This time updated all infantry to pioniere, all PzIIIE to PzIIIH and PzIVD to E.

I really like this mission. 100% blitzkrieg. DV in 12/18 and 185 PP.

Just the Yugoslavian plane doesn't seem to be right. First of all the german insignia. So i was rather curious to look it up.

Belgrade is mine...all mine :)

Metaxas line

I bought a StuGIIIB during the deployment phase.

I had the impression the mission was easier but that's probably because i'm playing it for the second time.

Well, i have that Mathilda II tank again :)

Image

I made it to Thessalonika. DV in 12/14 and 196PP

Image

AI resisted my advance as much as it could especially with the cavalry and the tanks. Whose deadly combination crushed my newly gained SE PzIII.
One of my favorite scenario's of DLC 41.

Crete airborne

Did it again in 9/15 turns with 520PP left.

I am not a big fan of naval scenario's so i played the airborne version again.
I expected it to be a bit harder (more british planes) in beta 2 but i applied the same tactics and i had no problems to take all that was necessary..
It is a solid scenario.

Heraklion fell last

Minsk41

Bought another StuGIIIB.

The beta2 version came with gifts, AA units, cool. First turn is actually to knock out as many fronttroops as possible. When it is the AI's turn, the potent adversaries of this invasion hits you like a hammer, the first counterattacker is a KV-1A (thanks but no thanks)

Image

I must have a rabbit foot that i am unaware of.

Image

What came here out of the goodie bag?

Image

Minsk is mine. DV 14/18. 238PP.

Image

Another 100% blitzkrieg scenario. Brest is the toughest spot to take, but it is well worth it.

Smolensk 41

I love easter eggs althou it is soon Christmas. What a nice KV tank we have there...

Image

The russian counterattack between Smolensk and Orsha was unexpected but once in motion, it was a shooting gallery for the luftwaffe.
This scenario is already a bit more difficult than Minsk but surely as entertaining. The possibility to add a KV-1 tank to your core is an opportunity not to let go by.
I finished the mission in 17/21 turns and 564 PP.

Smolensk has fallen...

Ostrov

Since the briefing warned about enemy tanks, and the fact i cannot deploy all my units, i left two infantry at home.

Another blitzkrieg scenario with plenty of enemy tanks. In turn 7/18 they must be decimated since i only see infantry before handing over the turn to the AI.

Image

And then 4 more tanks appeared... they really love my units...not.

Great scenario, plenty of resistance, even few stings from the russian airforce. I have the enjoy the good weather as long as it lasts...

Ostrov in 14/18 turns.

Novgorod

With DLC 41 nobody can complain about the amount of enemy tanks. The same in this scenario. The briefing i consider a little misleading because i already encountered more russian airunits than i expected.
Sofar whatever they throw at me, i still advance.
In turn 9 i'm shelling Novgorod with 5 artillery units. They are having the blast of their lives...

Image

I crossed the river in the north, close to that lone airfield. No defenders there...took Chudovo, rest will follow.

From your local russian tank factory...another captured T-34!

Image

Once your reach Novgorod, most enemy tanks are history and the remaining objectives is just easy even when new units are spawned in the last VH.
DV in 13/19 and 1776 PP.

I can't complain about casualties, can i?

Leningrad

First round for AI... 3 morning snacks, i hope the NDA contains an insurrance against heart-attack lol

Image

Leningrad is the most intruiging scenario and the most difficult i have encountered sofar.
Lots of units of different sorts that need to be taken out what slows down the advance considerably.

Taking Leningrad is not an option but at least i had to try ;).

Image

I got my DV in 21/21 turns and 274PP
Luckily, althou sometimes very close, no units lost.

Vyazma

During betatest 1 i already had major problems to capture the last VH because of rain rain rain.
Now during the second test i couldn't capture the Moscow hex at all. I think the russians hired a medicine man to sing mud mud mud.
I had 3-4 turns in which there was no mud nor rain involved. Ofcourse all the enemy units don't quit attacking my units, so on that part the AI did a really good job.

At least i got an MV 20/20 turns and 316PP and another KV-1 richer.
Appearingly no Streets of Moscou when getting a MV only. Oh well...DLC's are highly replayable ;).

Demyansk

Time for major upgrades here.
All Ju87B to D, Bf 110c/d to e, PzIIIH to PzIIIJ/1 and finally the Pzjager to Marder IIA.
There are less AA units available in this beta, but my 6 fighters can deal with anything the russians send.
This time i was not so dedicated to move units eastwards, this time i let them come.
It was not so difficult to keep them at bay. The scenario could be more challenging if they come in from south-north and east simultaneously.
Also bringing in the transports is still easy if you guide them via the lake in the north.

I got a DV in 16/22 turns and 30PP.
