Minsk
Starting with 2260 prestige and I got a SE Panzer IVF, which means I will delete my SE Greandiere at the end of this scenario. After elite replacements (no upgrades yet) my prestige is down to 510 already and I just noticed that I have forgotten to replace my lost 15cm from the Crete invasion - geez, I am really short on prestige here.
With 290 prestige left after upgrading my Pz IVE to F I bought myself another Stuka instead of replacing the 15cm since speed seems to be important here - leaving me with 7 prestige
I am using 3 groups with the center largely consisting of armor and 10 planes for this one.
The first turn was great, I think this is nearly perfect in capturing the "surprise" (more like orders to stand down from Stalin actually) of of the Soviet forces.
Got my first EK2 here.
The KV-1A rushing through Brest was nasty, took 9HP out of my STR12 Gebirgsjäger who were stiull embarked in their AC after the first turn.
Nice, got a T34-40 from Brest-Litovsk it seems (River Bug Bog).
Hmm, when did the Karl-Gerät spawn? Maybe a notification about reinforcements would be nice.
Nice tank counterattack to the NW of Minsk and by turn 10 I could stop worrying about how long it would take the Red Air Force to scramble its remaining fighters - 2 bases left and I got 3 of them - any idea if the number of fighters depends on the number of airfields left (liekly not, otherwise 4 airfields would mean aroud 6 fighters which would be enough to blow a fair number of Luftwaffe plains out of the sky).
K, let me correct this, more planes are coming on the next turn, too many actually for the number of airfields left, but it is a challenge
By turn 14 the last airfield was taken and I could have taken the last VL, but kept playing for XP/kills and to see if still more planes are coming now that all airfields are gone.
In the end DV at turn 20/20 with 1150 prestige. It looks like I will be short on prestige after this one again, which is good when playing at Field Marshall level IMO.
Well, this was a fairly epic one and I liked it. The large number of Soviet planes with them only having 1-2 airfields left does look a bit strange, but it provides a nice challenge.
