SeaLion Praise and a Game Suggestion

Post by Nebless »

First let me say how great I think you're choice of a SeaLion pack is. I know it's a what-if, but it has to be my favorite choice and will look forward to adding it to my BA collection.

Now I know it was pointed out in another post that Napoleonic "big-picture" games aren't big sellers, but I say stop thinking along the lines of Waterloo or Austerlitz and start thinking along the lines of R. Cornwell's Sharpe books. Battle's on a much smaller scale than say Austerlitz. While it might be too costly to join forces with Mr. Cornwell (although that would be great commanding the Prince's Own), you could easily set up scenario's on just a battalion level with some artillery and cavalry attached to defend / attack a bridge, fort or town. Or even to escort a supply convoy.

While Napoleonic games might not sell, we all know the Sharpe books and movie's do.

We keep looking at Napoleonic but have not found something we're happy with yet. Maybe we will one day!

Sealion is listed as having a release date of 12th December - is this still on track?

We've had a backlog of releases so unfortunately I think other games are going to push this post Christmas :(

I think it will be our first release in January.

Hi Ian,

Sorry to hear about the delay to Sealion. Any hints what these other games are?

We have 3 other releases before Christmas
Time of Fury
Field of Glory Decline & Fall
Panzer Corps Grand Campaign '41

Sealion will be Jan 2012 now. We just ran out of time to get them all done.

The campaign against the AI is you as Allies. Multiplayer can be either side.
You can call me junk - and type that with one hand.

Never mind Sharpe, a series of campaigns following the battles and scraps of Flashman is what you want - minus the tupping of course
