Commander - AVG and Authenticating Your Copy
I see in your blurb that if you are running AVG you are recommending not to purchase Commander until you resolve the issue with AVG. Very disappointing considering I was going to purchase the game today but I am not prepared to un-install AVG as that is my anti virus program. If I was to purchase the boxed version with printed manual, would this still be an issue? If yes, when do you expect to resolve this so that I can order my game? Thanks.

I understand people supporting AVG, it's a good program, what makes me wonder though, is why can't it be anything else?
For those stuck with AVG, have you considered AntiVir?
It's also free, and I will stack my AntiVir free personal edition up against ANY anitvirus on the market, paid for or free version.
And Commander has no problem with AntiVir
Still, Ian has tackled this problem with impressive speed.

Was not aware of the switch to pay only mode.vypuero wrote:I am using Avast! now too - AVG is not free anymore.
But I use only what I think works in my case, and I have a very competent computer friend that champions Avast, and you can assume neither of us would be using something we couldn't rely on. Free is nice, but safe is better. I won't use something just because it's free, it has to also work.

I used to use AVG, but they screwed up one version of the software that left a lot of bad feelings among customers. Not sure if the errors were intentional to get people to switch to the paid version.
So I switched to AVAST! over a year ago. I cannot praise it enough. Virtually trouble free; updates are a breeze. One of the most professional pieces of software I have had the great pleasure to use. Hard to believe it is free. My computer has been trouble free for a long, long time.
Dump that AVG garbage. And if you are paying one cent for anti-virus software you are paying too much.
