Today (while realy enjoying the dlc) I remembered that there are no enemy (and own) heros - A fact which clearly dislike.
So in the following, I present some thougths on that matters:
Own heros:
Come by time, when approaching Warsaw, I got the first (one to two). Though this is okay in principle, I fear that the rised mounts of kills needed my lead to problems (e.g. new units may get heros to slowly when obtained late in the later dlc). Further, I would like some more heros in the earlier dlc. What do you say to the hero obtaining rate?
Enemy Heros:
They always brought some special thrill in the old PG and I am missing them in the dlc (and the vanilla). How difficult is it to include them in the scenario editor (besides adding other pictures for other nation's heros)? Can we expect them to be patched into (dlc as well as scenario editor), later? I would love to hear some dev on this topic.
Multi player:
I would love to have heros in mp as well. Though this is not as easy balancing and obtainig wise, there surely is a way. At last on units predefined in the scenario editor, there could be some. Devs: Have you an idea how to do this and do you want this at all / would you like to hear proposals how this could be incorporated - concept wise?
What do you all say to this 3 points?
Best Regards

I don't remember having had any "Heroes" in Panzer General.
I also don't remember special named or special enemy units.
There are enemy "Heroes" in the DLC. Have you not yet seen General Kutrzeba and Lieutenant Michailovich, or later General Giraud?
The rate of hero acquisition has been slowed down to fit to a much longer DLC chain, imagine 39+40+41+42+43+44+45 DLC and gaining heroes at the usual Panzer Corps campaign rate. I already got a few heroes in Poland and likely some more now in France. Do you really need/want more? I barely notice them while playing except they increase artillery range or movement.
Regarding "Hero" units in multiplayer: I don't play multiplayer but I still think this is an atrocious idea. Hero worship and uber-units are not the point of Panzer Corps at all, that's more Leage of Legends aka MOBA/DOTA stuff and I can't tell you how much I hate that idea for Panzer Corps.

A tank unit with +2-3 Defence Heroes x2 can be quite durable and a excellent spearhead into enemy formations.
As for heroes harder to obtain on units bought later in the war, it's possible they will lower requirements for a hero in the later DLCs.
Although that might cause problems if you have units who are above the new limit (will they gain the medals retroactively? Or during their next engagement? etc.)
I'm sure there will be some sort of solution though.

There were no 'heroes' in PG2 but there were 'leaders' and their special abilities. They were available to the AI, too, if the scenario designer wanted it. They could not be set to a specific type of leader until fairly recently with Luis Guzman's editor making it possible to set specific leaders. Personally, I think that would be a great addition to modding (MP or SP). Naming a unit doesn't make it a hero, so it would be great to be able to have, for example, a Tiger named Michael Wittmann with Attack +3 or something. I don't think the rate of getting them needs changes, though - it's tied to experience growth and the high cost of elite replacements slows that down in most cases enough.
I think it'll be something to look forward to in the future.
At the moment though, heroes are only configured for one nation (Germany) and the first thing we'd need to is implement multi-national hero support.
Once we have that, I imagine it shouldn't be out of the question to pre-place heroes through the editor or implement them in other ways as well.
