SE unit question.
If you disband a SE unit when you receive it for the prestige points, will you still eventually end up with three SE units?
Thanks.
Thanks.
This thread has some details on SE units.

As a note:
DLC campaigns have a slightly different SE units system.
Instead of 3, each DLC has a different SE unit allotment.
You can only have 2 SE units in DLC 1939, 3 in DLC 1940, 4 in DLC 1941... and most likely this number will constantly increase as the DLCs move on through the years.

Thanks for this info, was looking for this, I wondered if I would get some more free units after the two I already got.Kerensky wrote:This thread has some details on SE units.

It does seem though that only infantry units will be awarded.
I replayed the first 3 scenario's quite a few times already (I underestimated a certain polish counterattack and didn't read the DV conditions too closely, keep 3 aux units alive?! to me they have always been cannon fodder
The first SE tanks you can get are Panzer IIIFs, they become available when you reach Norway I think.Rood wrote:Thanks for this info, was looking for this, I wondered if I would get some more free units after the two I already got.Kerensky wrote:This thread has some details on SE units.

So it's a good idea to disband one of the Infantry units then and hope for a PzIIIF.
XP in Poland is irrelevant because the first two stars are gained so quickly.Rood wrote:Thanks for the info Fimconte, I probably will not disband an infantry unit since they have so much xp now, probably will miss those tanks when I get to the 2nd DLC and invade France.

I highly recommend Rezaf's suggestion of playing the campaign with a slower rate of gaining exp. I restarted my campaign and adjusted the game rules file in the DLC folder (doesn't effect online games) to these settings.XP in Poland is irrelevant because the first two stars are gained so quickly.
ExpGrowRate0 20
ExpGrowRate1 10
ExpGrowRate2 8
ExpGrowRate3 6
ExpGrowRate4 4
ExpGrowRate5 2 (you could customise them to anything you prefer)
I've now played the first 4 battles and most units although performing very well and engaging in lots of combat have about 1/4 of their first star, or exp of 20 to 30. In my old campaign some units were already well past there first star after 5 battles. I was never that keen on the idea of an experince cap and thought it to be a bit of a quick bandaide solution, so i much prefer this more natural levelling up method. It does make it much harder to gain exp and I'm not sure how things will look past DLC 41 but the last 3 exp settings are not altered much from original. Now if only exp could actually matter more for my troops.
Thanks to Rezaf for a great idea
