British Campaign
A non-historical British Campaign (v0.03) for Panzer Corps v1.04
http://www.gamefront.com/files/21030869 ... _v0.03.rar
The core should be saved automatically after scene 5. Ofcourse, this is all very new to me.
I'm looking for playtesters who are willing to try scenario's 1-5 and post their feedback in this thread.
Install v0.03:
Unrar the file under /documents/my games/panzer corps/MODS (you might need to create the mod folder)
Start the game, chose new game, chose the "custom campaign folder" and you should find the mod in the list.
Things to know:
1) In Mission 1 YOU chose with which units to begin. The amount of prestige given allows you to buy 10 core units (ground and air) and an already placed SE unit will get you started.
2) SE units are always british tanks.
3) Your core not only consists of land and air units, but also naval units are included (they will appear during mission 1). Britannia rules the waves!
4) In mission 5 you can start purchasing naval units for your core.
5) Missions 1-3 are so-called training missions against a "friendly" host country. As a reward somewhere during gameplay you will receive a unit of this befriended nation.
6) Mission 4-5 is where a fictive war begins between the UK and Spain. Mission 6 (not incl. in this test) will be the conclusion of this short war (thanks to the player General ofcourse).
7) Further development will rely on your feedback and suggestions. I'm sure everybody understands. I don't want to waste anyone's time.
Last but not least, a huge thanks to Rezaf for adding more units, and for being so kind to test the first versions of scenario's 1 to 3. Also for fitting those naval png's in the purchase buttons.
Thank you.

Once the patch is out and the new campaign systems are live and you update this campaign to accommodate the new systems, and I'll see if I can't spare some time to take a look at it.
Besides, this sort of campaign is the perfect example of the strength of the new CHAIN system (ability to create content, receive feedback, and resume content and player core without a hitch)... ohhh lemme make a new thread for that.

The recent patches gave new options that can steer the AI more than before. Also the time and zone triggers for (friendly) units to appear on the field (unexpectedly) adds suspense and possibly sweat to the player. I'm surely going to check how i can improve it even more once the patch is out. But most importantly in relation with the received feedback and suggestions.Kerensky wrote:Once the patch is out and the new campaign systems are live and you update this campaign to accommodate the new systems, and I'll see if I can't spare some time to take a look at it.

That's on purpose. 8 core units (YOUR naval fleet) will appear when you hoist enough flags over Antwerp and you'll also receive an additional Belgian Volunteer core unit as well.bebro wrote:Hey, I just tried the first training mission vs. Belgium, but have a prob: I only have 20 prestige. Since I'm supposed to buy a 10 unit core, this surely can't be WAD?nikivdd wrote:v0.02 for panzer corps v1.04!

Ahh, I see. Probably a misunderstanding on my side, I thought I'd get to buy all those units additionally to those shipsnikivdd wrote:That's on purpose. Well, I have to ask again: The briefing says...

Though I hadn't that much of a hard time winning the main game scenarios I played (all on colonel so far).
Since I can't buy units with 20 pts a good part of the early scn I'm left with the two tanks and the two tacs arriving after some turns. Thing is I don't see how I can pull this off with those only. Well, after capturing additional hexes I can buy 1 or even 2 inf after some time, but it seems to little to late. Or maybe I just royally suck at thisHQ has granted you a rather generous amount of starting prestige to buy your first 10 core units (land and air only!)

Somehow somewhere sometime... i forgot to enter the starting prestige.
I checked and i bought several infantry and artillery, two tanks and a fighter and a bomber.
I posted the update in the first window or get it here: http://www.gamefront.com/files/21030869 ... _v0.03.rar
You see that testing by others is invaluable. Thanks for the time and effort.

Just played thru this, very nice
Some observations:
2nd battle: the way you have some of the rivers, means you can actually have a unit(s) get stuck if the frozen ground thaws at the end of your turn !
Morroco landing: not sure if this is so but did you have enemy units spawn? I ask as I had swept thru Morroco west to east and was closing in on the last city when suddenly a horde of cavalry and tanks appeared from nowhere. I found it a little frustrating but certainly it did make it challenging !. Maybe a little warning that "partisans" might appear?
Got confused more than once as both sides share many of the same aircraft graphics, however that is mostly the engines fault as the strenth tabs look almost alike , especially after playing hours on end.
Good stuff, thanks for putting this out to share, cheers!

In the second scenario you must have been very unlucky to get snow/frost because it was only set to 5%. You make a point there, since the river is untraversable. Adjusted for a next update.
Added "beware of partizans" in Marocco scenario. Those sudden cavalry and tanks is a very nasty trigger i build in. Added in the briefing, so players will be warned.
Some units are custom made (making a great addition to the stock units) as you noticed, but those strength tags are, as you said, not always clear. That is why that with every campaign, i also use the strategic map and/or browse throu all the units every turn.

Just finsihed playing this through, very enjoyable, although Gibralter left me lacking in some units (took a bad pounding on land and sea). Did notice that in the last couple of games, I was not hearing movement sound for some units, PzI, cavalry, and another I forgot to write down.
I too was overwhelmed by the Moroccan influx but, since I had units attacking form both sides, it made it a little easier.
Thanks again for putting this togther. Looking forward to the next installment.

Thanks for the feedback. For the time being i put all my effort into the GTPG project. Once completed i might pick up the thread with this one. And another advantage is that the custom e-file will be alot larger at that time.morge4 wrote:Just finsihed playing this through, very enjoyable, although Gibralter left me lacking in some units (took a bad pounding on land and sea). Re: British Campaign
I was looking for a Char D1 and can find a use for the AMC35.
The TAZ mount on the 75 will probably be getting a 47mm cut and pasted this weekend.
And I get a British campaign as well!
Good things all round!
