Great game and perhaps a tie....
For most fun wargame of the year. Certainly Forge and Taow3 etc are more complex, BUT this is an amazing game... super fun and also challanging.. not hard enough, crank up the ai with the harder levels, still not hard enough?.. open the "hood " and tinker with the files. "And then? " askeed the lady at the drive through.. well let me tell you son there is TWO PLAYER! Yummy Two very high thumbs up!

Open question to lesthesarge and other beta testers. I have a friend who loved to play Third Reich and other AH boardgames "solo" before marriage intervened, but has little time for gaming now--he has six children! Do you think he would like this game? Can you turn off the "selecting a commander option" for both sides if you play against the AI? If you play both sides yourself, I assume you can choose to not purchase or select commanders? Thanks!

Mustang (sorry for slow reply out of home for a week
).
Game can be played hotseat mode. Simply play as best you can as both sides.
Tricky thing is some aspects require sneaky behaviour ie subs, so while I think your friend would love the game, he would have to enforce some "logic" to force his own hand to not cheat
Could be as simple as pre plotting moves intentions on scratch pad during game, and then sticking to them as much as possible ie if sub is order to a destination, stick with it unless some logical response would alter conditions.
A lot of wargames have been playing solo for years. Sometimes though, the marvel of computer adaptions so gets used to the fog of war element, that it can't easily let it go.
