1.62 Sarmation Lancers again!?

Post by TheGrayMouser »

Not a bug per se but more of an aesthetics thing

The Sarmation lancer Graphic introduced in IF is very nice, but we saw it reused in Legion T and now again this same graphic is used for Avars and vandals in D-F. Not sure what figure line it came from but the graphic is "plumper" and the colouring of the unit ( pastel pinks) really seems out of place next to the bg's in D-F. Maybe swap it with another lancer type?

BTW really like the Lombard heavy lancers, shaggy beards and all :)

If you could suggest a better replacement that would be great. You can browse the unit images in c:\program files\slitherine\field of glory\armies\unit images.

Thanks

Here is a figure from MAdaxemans site for a Vandal cavalry man...

Well, cant currently browse the new grpahics for D-F until the next patch but some graphics from the other expansions that look similar to the above:

The Frankish cavalry (not used in any game yet) blue cloaks shields lances non barded horses

also a couple figs could be suitable in the Western Foed Roman list allies: the Armorican veteren armoured cavalry/armoured cavalry look pretty nice and I dont belive any list really uses them either.

No biggie, its just that the Sarmation lancer is so distinct and of course is shieldless and using his "barge pole" lance two handed, which I dont believe Vandal or gothic lancers did.
