ipad BA

Post by jdm »

We revealed the early beta of BA at Essen today and I have to say it was an outstanding response, I thought I had lost the ipad as it was passed around, from player to player, this is a much anticipated release from the reaction of the audience here in Germany :-)

Cool! I played my first PC -vs- iPad MP game today. Which was cool ;).

We're pretty close to a beta version - mainly got to get the UI sorted out, as it still relies on mouseovers for some info.

Cheers

We're not sure of the way we will work it yet. I doubt we can just swallow the cost of the iPad development, but we have always tried to make sure that we look after current players and customers. I'm not sure how though - as there is the added complication of what flexibility we do and don't have with respect to the Appstore.

Cheers

The iPad version must be distrubted via the iTunes stores which means we dont actually have any control over discounts to existing PC users. The system just doesnt allow it unfortunately so yes you will need to re-buy on iPad, but that's true of any game on any other format.

You will however be able to play games PC vs iPad and even continue a game from your PC or Mac on your iPad.

Noooooo love of the iPad here, but a hearty congrats on breaking out of the PC only rut in what can only be considered a good way.

Today the iPad, tomorrow damn near any other tablet.

I am hoping that with Windows 8 making tablets more accessible, it will also make new markets more accessible to Slitherine as well.

Great news about BA for the iPad! Will it be able to run on both iPad1 & iPad2?

Ian,

I'm a little slow when it comes to getting the latest technology ... (I just bought an iPhone 4).

Anyway ... I noticed that when purchasing an "app", you could "gift-it" to someone.

This might sound absurd but ... What if we purchased the iPad version at a discount from you (providing proper serial #) and you (slitherine) then "gifted" the app to us?

I figured it would require someone hanging around the office at Plimus to respond 24/7 to such actions, but maybe there's a similar approach that would work.

I dunno :?

I dont really understand :) Plimus have nothing to do with iPad purchases. They are all handled by Apple.

Ok ... yeah ... Understood :) .

I'm a little Apple Challenged when it comes to "how-it-all-works".

I tell Pip that someday ... "Stop playing with the fruit and get back to the meat and potatoes!"

I can sense that everyone at Slitherine is excited to expand in the Apple direction (and proud too!) ...
