Cav not in one rank

Post by IanB3406 »

Something I had been playing wrong it looks like,....

Shooting poa is by battle group and not by file, so if any file is more than one deep the - poa counts for all incoming shots.

As Hazelbark said... "Yep".

I think of the formation in 3 front one back (or similar) as actually 3 front and a second rank of 1/3 of a base spread across the whole line. So, the line is actually 'thicker' than it would normally be, thus gets a +.

the POAs make this clear by using the phrasing "unless entirely in one rank"

It is clear in the POA section of the rules, but the word ENTIRELY is omitted from most or all of the QRSs. The fact that people are used to figuring POAs by target file for impact and melee (ranks of spear/pike, etc) confuse the issue in that case.

This was noted a while back and the authors do plan to clean that up in the future.
