Question: why are there deployment hexes next to Eben-Emael and a pionere unit on the ground? I thought it was fallschirm guys who took the fort and, given paratroops have a fort busting trait in PzC, it seems strange. I imagine most players will place their best pioneres in those deployment hexes. If there is no way to mandate that players place fallschirmers, perhaps aux fallschirmers should be there? Just wondering.

Rant: this emphasised the need to be able to access the briefing from within a turn. I started it the day before, forgot it overnight and couldn't access it the next day. Do I have to write down some notes?

Confession: won this in 13/15 first time around but lost so many units I decided to replay it. Knowing what was coming made this a lot easier (of course!)

1. Disbanded the 2x Ju88s from Norway.
2. Upgraded all INF to pioners due to nature of the task. I don't think this is realistic and made me wonder if pioneres are too cheap.
3. Upgraded 10.5 to 15cm ART
4. Bought a Sturmpionere and a Pz IVD
5. Surrounded Eben-Emael without attacking it on Turn 1 but *it did not attack on its turn!* A 15 strength fort should be able to do a fair bit of damage in an attack.
6. 15/15 DV
7. No losses.
8. Got a nice, shiny new Pz IIIE SE as a reward!

I like this scenario as it is really quite challenging, at least IMO. The bombers were a nasty surprise - they pack a real punch.

This was very challenging because the Allied units just kept on coming and the British infantry, in particular, were very hard to finish off. I think it took me more than 7 turns just to clear the eastern third of the map before I could even start to advance. Once my wehrmacht got a head of steam, though, it was on to Antwerp with a couple of turns to spare. Another fun and nerve-wracking scenario.

On to The Hague...

The AI was silly enough to leave the AFB in the north free of troops so I could sneak my recon in and take that objective. Taking the others was fairly straight-forward.

2. Lost a pionere in Opel transport through stupidity
3. Got an SE girbesjager sort of makes up for it

The auxiliary paratroops never seemed to be in danger - lost 2 in the north but otherwise they were very strong. Destroyers were their biggest worry - not through damage but by taking ammo off them with each attack!

Foolishly didn't look at the objectives properly and went haring off to the north when there aren't any in that direction! Fortunately, still able to get them into ferries and across the Meuse to attack real objectives. Underestimated the enemy and lost a few units.

2. Lost: fallschirmers, who jumped in the middle of the main French armour!; 15cm elite ART (a real blow) in the French armoured counter; a 222 in the streets of Sedan.
3. Considering how cavalier I was, I am surprised to even get a victory. The French were better prepared than I thought they would be but my Stukas are continuing to decimate anything that comes against me.
4. The captured Somua was nice and I will enjoy using it against the Matildas I assume I'll encounter next up...

Fairly straight forward 3-pronged attack.

2. Lost a 231 AC due to mistaking 2lb AT for an AD!

Otherwise, no losses but probably a large repair bill.
