I changed a few of the airfield names, so it's Kjevik Airfield now.
The german light cruisers have already been renamed, and most of the destroyers replaced with schnellboots.

As for everything else. well it's pretty obvious you're very passionate about this scenario but I have to tell you that the vast majority of the items you requested are not acceptable.

Understrengthing units to 5 is not a historical tool as much as it is a game play tool. 5 strength turns into 1 strength on Sergeant, and turn into 10 strength on Manstein. More often then not, the AI can also not properly handle 5 strength units, and will simply reinforce them to 10 on its first turn.

Excessive renaming of units is absolutely not acceptable for a large variety of reasons. It detracts from the few units who do have special names, and something like II/JG77 is meaningless to most gamers. It only serves to obscure what the unit actually is (109E), this problem is especially pertinent when dealing with landing craft and other types of transports. Confusion factor goes through the roof, game play benefits are non-existant.

I would say your best bet to see your vision of this scenario is to fire up the design tools and put all your ideas exactly as you want them. :)
Trying to fit them all into a piece of a campaign is just not feasible and serves to hurt the campaign instead of help it, sorry. Thanks for the effort though, it's always good to see very passionate people. :D

Matter of fact, if you put that scenario together as you envision it, maybe you can turn it into an awesome multiplayer or single-play scenario map. ;)

Evacuation in the briefing is intentional to highlight the kinds of units the player is looking for. All of the relevant units on the map are all called 'Evacuation something'.
It's a trick with visual association. The appearance of the word 'Evacuation' is identical to how it appears on names of units on the map, which triggers association of the two.

The other two are fine though.

AgentX wrote:@Erik, wow, that is a lot of changes. One thing, though, this thread is for text changes and you are proposing major gameplay/map changes. You may want to start a separate thread for these type changes. Also, pics might help. You could make a copy of the map, then open it up in the Editor and make your changes. Then, you could make screenshots which would make it easier to see some of the changes.
You cannot open these scenarios in the editor, I have tried.
Most of the changes are minor IMO (names and a few eqp changes), even the map changes (airfields) should not unbalance the scenario since the availability of the fields stay the same.

First, make a copy of the scenario and paste it somewhere other than the main Panzer Corps program folder (like in the Documents folder; or create a folder on the desktop). I don't think you can make changes while the files are in the main PC folder. Then, start the Editor and open the copied file. You should be able to modify it now (I just checked and was able to do it). Save the changes and either make it a custom scenario or replace the original in the PC program folder.

To make it a custom scenario, create a Scenario folder inside Libraries/Documents/My Games/Panzer Corps (you'll see others named Log and Save). Put the modified map in the Scenario folder, start PC and go to the Scenarios menu. Scroll to the bottom and pick Custom. A list of custom scenarios will now show up and you can start it from there. If you're going to replace the original and see how it plays out in your campaign, make a backup of the original map so you can restore it later, if needed (like the changes end up being too drastic or you make some error that causes the map to crash).

Stonne, post briefing:
1. In the second line, "...routed the French they are in..." there should be a period between "French" and "They."

Wassigny briefing:
1. In the third paragraph, "counter-attack" should be "counterattack."

Thanks for the reply. I understand that the non-chrome changes may be too drastic.
But there are a couple of things I do not understand.
5 strength units are already used extensively in this and other scenarios. I think reducing a few units while boosting others or adding more 5 strength units should be trivial as long as the total balance is maintained.

I think you are underestimating the players. The Luftwaffe designations is pretty standard stuff...
Most players with even a casual interest in military history would be familiar with ie battalion desgnations like I, II etc.

My view is that historically correct unit names can only enhance the user experience.

BTW, I am unable to open the DLC scenarios in the regular (updated) editor, even after moving the scenario file.

Thanks
Erik

We're too late in the day to make any significant changes to the scenario design as we dont have time to balance any changes so please keep any changes from now on more focussed on a specific balance issue. Text changes are fine but balancing is mroe delicate.

Corbeny -> Corbenay (both exist but ours near Brane is Corbenay) <doh> Signy-l'Abbaye

I removed one of the 'once again' but I'm pretty sure I meant to say breech. It means 'to penetrate'.

Although apparently I spelt it wrong. The word I was looking for is 'breach' ;)

Amiens post-mission brief:
1. There should be a hyphen between "build up" (no hyphen indicates verb form).

Dunkirk briefing:
1. In the first paragraph, where it says "...our scouts have detected the British..." sounds awkward; might be better if it said, "have detected that the British..."

Stonne:
Beleville -> Belleville
Pouro-Saint-Remy -> Pouru-Saint-Remy

Wassigny:
Catilon-sur-Cambre -> Catillon-sur-Sambre
Le Cateua-Cambresis -> Le Cateau-Cambresis

Poznan:
Gorlitz -> Görlitz
Glogow (Germans call it Glogau but let's keep the Polish names for their cities, it's OK)
Frankfurt: Suggest "Frankfurt an der Oder" or "Frankfurt/Oder", the usual German names.

Just as a note, as we have in the base game, no cities will receive any sort of accent markings.
Any cities that 'could be' either X or Y will mostly likely stay as is as well.

I just checked and noticed that Nürnberg, Würzburg and Brünn for example are Nurnberg, Wurzburg and Brunn.
Guess "Umlaute" (äöü) also count as accent marking then?

Suggested improvement for Panzer Corps: Put the ü back in Fuhrer! :)

I'm just following the precedent. Although I'm pretty sure this was done intentionally (format of the files associated to maps may not allow special characters)
And actually, we can't even say Führer... We do have to play by those rules for our product.

Frankfurt on the Germany map is also just 'Frankfurt' BTW :P

Lodz: Everything OK
Piatek: Everything OK
Wyszogrod: Everything OK

I see it coming, you will spell every Krzyrckreaqkyzw kind of city in Poland correctly but mess up wonderful city names in Italy! :)
Danzig S+N will be checked last, because the names are damn difficult for me.

Edit: Can't find Turskaw in the Kampinoska Forest map on Google maps. Besides that everything OK.
Oslo: Everything OK.

Dunkirk post-mission briefing:

1. Where it says, "Hello once again Herr General ... good to be in contact with you again..." remove one of the "agains" as this is redundant (probably the first "once again").

1. In the third paragraph, where it says "...first line of defense, how ironic..." replace the comma with a semicolon.
