Lessons Learned, I think
It seems to me, that infantry is fairly worthless after stalingard
Seems to me, that AA is fairly worthless
Seems to me, All armor, tank and heavy art with air superiority is everything. (ie. Anti-tank until later years, AA, infantry are all fairly worthless by 43.
Seems to me, I should let all my armor die if they aren't 3 stars when I can get Tigers and Panthers as it costs the same to buy new or upgrade. Well, unless I have ridiculous amounts of prestige so I can upgrade them at the price of buying one.
Same for 109 to 190 FW

You can disband units at deployment screen for full refund of unit cost (Experience will be lost though).Mercutio wrote:It seems to me, that infantry is fairly worthless after stalingard

As for AA and AT (for the most part) being useless, I concur.
Infantry however is vital for capturing cities and breaking through close terrain (forest/hill/mountain/city).
Just use Pioneers since they ignore Entrenchment.
Infantry is always very useful. I won Bagration on Rommel mostly by killing JS2 on hills in the middle city (Minsk). 88 AA is supremely useful.
Try playing some MP games, you'll find that many previously useless units suddenly become awesome. Although sadly, there is rarely a reason to buy PzIVs, but I've used most of the other units like conscripts, AT units, AA units, "weak" artillery like StuGIV quite successfully.

Those lessons were learned in multiplayer. Granted, infantry to hold or sometimes pioneers can be useful. However, by 45 anything less than IS-2, Tiger 2, or at least Elephants and the like are worthless. Big guns, big armor, everything else is crap.deducter wrote:Infantry is always very useful. Just my opinion.
LOL, perhaps this weekend.deducter wrote:Really? Them's fighting words. I'll play you in mp, if you're game.
Infanfry is useful entrenched and in cities or hills, forest.
88s are nice mostly on defense, but lack punch against 1945 stuff. They are also limited when you are attacking.
Of course, you play on Rommel, I am a lowly General. However, I am not against being pummelled on my way to enlightenment.
