How To - a question for "professional" modders

This morning i tried to modify the background of the PC campaign selection screen (menu_wide_bg.jpg)

To achieve my desired effect i used the PC-Mod "amostraq.jpg" (eagle graphic no. 1, which is almost identical to the one used here and in the mission briefings).

Didn't quite work out because :

a) lack of talent ??
b) eagle in background pic has somewhat wider wings that the one used in the mod
c) wasn't able to correctly and transparently put the "dreaded swastika" atop of the "wheel in the laurel wreath"
without the "wheel" shining through, or the swatika blocking out the background.



What i would like to achieve is, to replace the "wheel wreath" with the "real wreath",
with only the three-colored ribbon shining throung the swastika-arms.

Things would probably be easier for other modders (and me), if someone (at Slitherine ??) could post a pic
of the "blue-white-red" ribbon alone, without the "Reichs-Eagle" on top of it.

Has anyone other ideas or tipps about this topic ?

How so ?
Already downloaded and installed this mod.
It tackles multiple graphic issues, with my problem being the (only?) exception.

I tried to cut out the golden eagle with the laurel wreath using using the cloning tool (stamp)
of my graphics programs (Paint.NET and Photofiltre), but the result is rather unsatisfactory.

The core of my problem is that the three colored ribbon is not of a plain color but textured,
so it's really hard for me to "repair" the graphic properly.

So it's most likely my lack of talent & practise and not using pro equipment and progs
like for example a grahic tablet and pen.

So a hint by "pros" like HBalck or Massi would be very much apreciated.

First, I'm not a professional modder nor a professional user of Photoshop.
I've learn some techniques with Deluxe Paint in Amiga and later I learned to use Photoshop (a bit only).
So, this is not perfect, but I think it's this what you want.



Edit: What you're trying to do here, I deliberately didn't do it in my mod. The reason is that it could turn the mod into a Nazification of the game, if you understand what I mean. That was never my intention. I even have hesitated a lot with the use of the Reichsadler in the headbase.
