when are we going to see some new scenarios or campaignes? all i see on this forum is talk about this and talk about that..this game has very little repeat playablility without new maps etc...and early war maps and scenarios stink on ice (sorry to say) its boring .. the equippment is lame...we need more later war stuff..maybe more invasion usa or england..i know i will be bashed for this but the game was $40 bucks and has like no repeat play in it..

There is a lot of new stuff on the way. If you keep abreast of the public news available on these forums and the Slitherine/Matrix sites you'll see 2 huge campaigns are in final beta testing and due for release later this month.
As for later war scenarios there are quite a few in the campaign and there are many MP ones.
There are many custom single-player (campaigns and scenarios) and MP scenarios in the stickies on this forum.
Finally, if you would like to see more scenarios, become familiar withe the Scenario Editor and make some. If that doesn't float your boat at least give some specifics of what you would like to see - perhaps someone here will pick it up and do it.

Everybody is entitled to express an opinion about the game but the post is plain unappreciative.
This is one of the best TBS game ever devised, since the original Panzer General. A vanilla release, is just the beginning and its potential is far from achieved. There is a constant development and improvement. This is the kind of game that lives of and for the community where every feedback and input is highly appreciated. Simply, this game is just getting better and better. This month (probably) the Grand Campaigns will be available. More and more people engage themselves in modding, creating scenario's and campaigns to share with everybody. Those people (including myself), unselfishly, devote themselves to add hours of gameplay, for free!
The 40 dollars or euro's is just a pittance for the countless hours of work the developer's put into this project.

I thought this thread'd been locked.
And with good reason - besides the hostile nature of floplop, he already posted the same thread a while ago, getting similar responses.
In other words, don't feed the troll.

I was more thinking along the lines of "he could've just bumped his older thread", but fair enough, I guess it's a sensible/responsible position for a moderator to take, not to unneccessarily lock threads left and right, I mean.El_Condoro wrote:It was locked but the content of the rant not worthy of a lock. I'm stating my opinion..first of all the game is almost an exact clone of the original panzer general 2 from a decade ago..i mean how much actual work went into making this game stand out from one a decade ago?? not much..its like they took the original, added a few new scenarios and threw it out there without much thought..i think they are expecting people to do there work for them by creating new mods etc for them..the two new campaigns coming out are crap (my opinion) i already played them as a beta tester..no one cares about 1939-1940..been there done that..you guys want to praise a rushed release without much new content then be my guest..
Don't you know that you've agreed to a NDA, and you can't disclosure that kind of information in the open forum?floplop wrote:the two new campaigns coming out are crap (my opinion) i already played them as a beta tester
You obviously didn't make an effort to try to understand what will be the grand campaign. The grand campaign will be from 39 to 45. These are the first two campaigns.floplop wrote:..no one cares about1939-1940
And "no one cares"??? You're speaking only for yourself. I care.
Please abstain using the word such as no one.
Besides if you're a beta DLC tester, so far you haven't posted any single post in the beta DLC forum. You haven't contributed with a single word. Your single word was this post. Just to bash it.

And I am thrilled beyond belief that this is true. This is exactly what many of us wanted.floplop wrote:first of all the game is almost an exact clone of the original panzer general 2 from a decade ago..i mean how much actual work went into making this game stand out from one a decade ago?? not much

No it is not. The legally binding NDA is very clear and no comments on the DLC are permitted. In this situation it is especially annoying as this is the only negative comment I've seen out of the hundreds posted and it has not even been made to the design team, but to an open forum. It deliberately gives a very misleading view of the campaign. The extra content has been hugely popular so far with the beta team.
Floplop treat this as a first and final warning.

It is a reflection on the quality of the product and therefore a disclosure of inside information which is strictly forbidden.rezaf wrote:Hate to actually support floplop, but isn't a statement like "they are crap (in my opinion)" a BIT too general to be covered by a NDA?VPaulus wrote:Don't you know that you've agreed to a NDA, and you can't disclosure that kind of information in the open forum?

You can say it -- just not in the open forumfloplop wrote:you could support me..you all agree with parts of what i am trying to say....rezaf wrote:Hate to actually support floplop, but isn't a statement like "they are crap (in my opinion)" a BIT too general to be covered by a NDA?VPaulus wrote:Don't you know that you've agreed to a NDA, and you can't disclosure that kind of information in the open forum?

Actually, I think there are some pretty good custom campaigns around, I think in some ways early/mid-war scenarios work even a little better than late game ones (when tacs are no longer effective enough and some tanks can finish off inf with a single attack, shruggin off defensive fire in the process) and I'm personally working towards creating even more new content, so I guess I don't agree with much what you say.floplop wrote:you could support me..you all agree with parts of what i am trying to say....
Go ahead and create good custom content yourself, THEN you can go around and say other people's content is crap.
It'll still not be very polite, but at least you then have some justification to say so. I guess this is known as the HBalck-Effect around here.
That's a probably justified, but also completely silly stance to take. I'm pretty sure one of the mods responded to my comment what I hoped the new campaigns would be like with "I think you will not be disappointed", or something along those lines. Look, he broke the NDA!iainmcneil wrote:No it is not. The legally binding NDA is very clear and no comments on the DLC are permitted. I can see how you don't like people bad-mouthing anything PzC, but floplop has established himself as a real grouchy smurf, he hates the original campaign, he hates all the custom campaigns made by users, is it any wonder or in any form informative to anyone that he says he hates the new campaigns?
But yeah, it's of course your call - overzealous handling of NDAs like that was one of the reasons I didn't sign up for the beta in the first place.
As I don't have a problem (well, not a fundamental one) with the original campaign or any user content, I'm pretty sure I'll try and like the new campaigns. I'm afraid I'll have to wait a little longer until I get the chance to play them, but my gaming time is limited just now, anyways, so it's not too bothersome to me.

He's free to say anything he likes in the beta forum - I dont remember seeing any feedback. He's free to say anything he likes in the open forum after the NDA is lifted. Until then the release of any info is strictly with written permission. The issue is that normally the people who like the game would defend it and a discussion on its merits and issues woudl tkae place. That cannot happen because the players are not allowed to disuss it so you can only see one disgruntled players views. The pack was nto what he was looking for which is fine. Hopefully he'll like some of the other content later
We have not once stopped people from complaining aboutour games. We welcome the input and criticism as this is how we make the game better. The only time we lock up a thread is if it is being deliberately offensive or inflamatory with no value.
This is the policy and these are the rules and they are not up for discussion

floplop, your opinion actually has no value and here's why:
- You don't give any criticism that would be in any way constructive. "this is crap" gets the idea across but is useless to anyone trying to understand WHAT to make better. If something is crap, please post it but be more specific.
- Your assumption that because this game is very similar to Panzer General that you treat it as if no effort went into it. Hello??? The complete game was written from scratch - art assets - editor - GUI - etc.
- Learn to differentiate between the value of your extremely subjective opinion and reality. I don't think I'd be going too far out on a limb to say that most people who bought PzC like it. Apparently you have gone around and polled them so that you can know for sure that they share your opinion? No, you didn't.
- Be polite. Even if you're right. Thanks for reading this.

my opinion has value to me..no one else..i see things in black and white..you don't...i hope SSI received some royalties or payment because they basically took the same game and rewrote the code for 2011...is it good? yeah but it was good 10 years ago when it was fresh...i mean for christ sake ITS THE SAME GAME..i played the heck out of the original..i just do not see me doing it with this game..been there done that..
