Piatek - Field Marshal - previous DV

Starting with 1240 prestige and got a elite Gebirgsjäger, bought another 10,5cm and a Bf110C, 210 prestige after elite replacements.

And immediately lost my new elite Gebirgsjäger in the first assault...

After weathering the first part of the storm sitting behind the river I started to attack in the west at turn 11, but only a limited one for a bit of prestige. Prestige is the main theme for me at the moment, since I have to reinforce my troops fairly often I am spending lots of prestige here, but despite that I still have pulled some units to the rear in order to reinforce them later (cheaper that way - at least I have the impression that this is the case).

After the eastern wave I take some more minor objectives, but overall I concentrate on my defenses. In the end I won a DV (20/20) with 750 prestige left, but a lot will go into reinforcements later.

My single Bf110C was enough to keep the 2 Polish fighters at bay, but a Bf109 would have surely helped here.

Boy, this was tough, lost 1 unit with 1 down to 2HP and 2 down to 4HP despite a number of repairs during the fight. Very nice map at FM level.

What happened to the Bf109 you started with?

I left it at home since I felt that I would need more firepower on the ground. That's why I took the Bf110C as a kind of compromise.

Piatek Colonel level

I think Piatek is one of the most difficult scenario's to design. It was a great idea to spread the VH's equally along the map, since every unit usually attacks the closest VH. So that attacking in waves could not have been chosen better. This time i didn't see the polish truck, so the transport was probably removed.
In a defensive mission like this, to even try to defend a bridge is close to suicide since the parameters are against you. So let the enemy come, and park your units next to those bridges. The city VH's were manned by my best infantry units with artillery support. It is also a pity, with the AI as it is now, that it even doesn't attempt to assault those cities, because the odds are infavourable. Human players are taking risks, and in the long run, the enemy will get out of ammo. Anyway, this scenario probably cannot get better as it is now, but it is definitely very well-done.
My units gained quite some experience, got lots of 2 stars. The available core slot i filled up with another sturmpanzer I, considering the nature of the mission. I didn't loose any units and i have 395 PP left.
