Dijon report (scenario 21)

Post by charonjr »

Dijon - Colonel - previous DV

Starting with 3060 prestige, down to 1420 after repairs and 1340 after upgrading my 3 Stukas to Ju87Rs.

Since the briefing said speed is important I will leave my 2 captured tanks at home ;)

Got myself another CharB1 ;)

Could have won at turn 14, but again decided to help my lower XP units - IIRC (including those units not currently deployed) only 4 units despite the captured tanks are below the XP cap now.

In the end it is a DV at turn 18/18, 2680 prestige. Overall nothing remarkable, but a nice solid scenario, for Colonel level the progress/difficulty looked ok to me.

A very nice and smooth playing scenario. Here and there are some AT guns that might sting but if you properly scout the area ahead, those guns never pose a problem.
A certain keypoints, the enemy puts up a fight but to no avail due to german air superiority. In my opinion, the mission was a bit too easy. Enemy tanks could use a few more strength points and also a few bombers coming out of nowhere. There is another CharB1 out there waiting to be captured... Anyway, i didn't really have to rush to take the last VH, 15 turns out of 18, DV and 2013 prestige points.
At the beginning of the scenario the Ju87R became available, but i never use this type and it's a waste of prestige points...i prefer the Ju87D (in Russia).

Woah, there is another char to be captured in this level? There was one city I didn't capture and it must have been the one with the Char. Oh well, the Char I have is doing quite well for itself. "Smooth playing" I think is a perfect description for this scenario, it is pretty perfectly balanced i think. Even though this scenario saw fairly light casualties, it was paradoxically the closest I came to missing the decisive victory. It took a maximum of effort to squeek out the last objective on the final turn. The sheer amount of ground you have to cover makes this one a worthy challenge. Once again, very good scenario.
