Uploading problem
Whenever I finish a turn I have to retry two times (it takes 1 minute to fail) before an error message occurs telling me that I tried multiple times to upload the turn. I hit cancel and finally the turn will be uploaded. I have games running with Pointshot, TMOJ2000, Shrimper61 for example. Any ideas what is going wrong?

When you are playing your turn, there is a recorder running in the background for the replay to be seen by your opponent. The longer you take to plan/carry out your moves, or if you walk away for a while, the file can get quite large. Perhaps your antivirus is scanning this file as it goes out and slows down the process. Just a guess. I've only had this problem before the server upgrade.
You can call me junk - and type that with one hand.

If the turns are uploading correctly (e.g. if you cancel you see the turn has gone to your opponent) then it seems like it is an issue with getting back the 'all ok' response from the server. This will manifest as the upload timing out, and then a retry going through almost instantly (as the server says "but it's not your turn any more, you can't upload").
Is this a newly appeared issue, or has it been going on for some time?
Cheers

Well that is just wierd. It could be that the upload is (for some reason) so slow that it takes all that time for the first attempt to complete, and the others then silently fail after you cancel. But that is a long time. Especially as you say it works fine at other times. Could it be local network contention? What is your 'advertised' upload speed?
Perhaps next time you see this behaviour, immediately after try going to speedtest.net and get your upload figures. Obviously if you have a blazing fast connection, then I am barking up the wrong tree
.
