Now if you say deploy your first units say 2 LF and 1 LH Bow if the LH were an ally unit do you have to declare it as an ally or not until generals go down?

Well in a comp which has rules that says something like fully describe your troops when they are deployed, then yes.

I normally say, but looking at the rules... technically only the troop type needs to be given.... which includes type and abilities, but not chain of command.

GCC practice requires you to designate which are allies at time of deployment.

Well in a comp which has rules that says something like fully describe your troops when they are deployed, then yes.

Someone asked me that at the weekend at Derby and I said I didn't think that the fact that troops were an ally needed to be disclosed until the generals were deployed. I wasn't sure so I made a judgement call. Concensus seems to be that maybe I called that wrong?

If that's the worst mistake I made then I'm happy!

I was the person who thought it was wrong, since I had made a mistake at deployment myself that seemed to cause the sky to fall, so i suppose it all depends who you play.

I asked this question on here in 2008. The reply from RBS was that all troops must be fully described at deployment.

I'll remember and ask if they are allies next time not that it mattered, mind why would you want one BG allied LH right on the flank and the other two allied BGs in the middle with the general seemed a strange deployment.
